Duma 74a 7955 Widener: Zag fi High School is the foroe which brings most of us from the sheltered years of child- hood through the linking years of adolescence to the threshold of manhood. Our alma mater, being no exception, has prepared us, the class of 1955, for a higher education in the arts or sciences or has given us the means to earn our livelihood. As it has done in the past and will do in the future, the faculty has instilled a sense of responsibility, comradeship and loyalty into the students of their classrooms. We, who are about to graduate, being the first class of the new Frankfort Central School, have begun a new era which we hope will flourish indefinitely. - - -The Editors 2 W ' ' Duufefa In all our music activities through our high school years we have been directed, prodded, criticized, praised and encouraged by a teacher whose radiant personality and noble character inspired us in our very endeavor. Her mending patience and mmtiring devotion with and to the students and the school has won the respect and admiration of all those who were associated with her. And so, in appreciation for all she has done for us, we take great pride in dedicating the 1955 MAROON LOG to Miss Virginia Dwyer. God sent His singers upon earth With songs of sadness and of mirth, That the ' y might touch the hearts of men And bring them back to heaven again. - - - - -Longfellow Sup' My congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 1955 the first class to graduate from Frankfort Central School. How time flies and how lonesome one becomes for all his high school friends. While we were reminiscing who should come to visit us but the most popular fortune teller this country has ever known. He offered to tell us what each of our classmates had chosen for his career. In this -year of 1955, under the guidance of Mrs. Reina and Mrs. Graves and the authority of our president,J oe Nicolette, we began financing our yearbook. The usual Xmas cards, stationery and sweatshirts were sold to raise money for our class. The senior play, OUR MISS BROOKS, brought us money and memories. What memories! The Student Council, with senior officers and representatives, guided the underclassmen. The senior dance, the first dance of the year, was the pattern for other class dances. The All- State Choir had a majority attendance of seniors. The football season ended with Frankfort as Mid-State Champs. This was due to the ten seniors on the first string and the senior cheerleaders. The players celebrated with a Football Victory Party. The boys won't forget that party for quite a while. The girls did their share of ce1ebrating-- a pajama party at Shirley Paratore's home. Oh, these pleasant senior memories. The jlmior year ended successfully under the leadership of President .T ohn Gorea, and, of course, our advisers, Miss lngro and Miss Frank. During the year we ordered our class rings. The Junior Jump was a success as was the Senior-Junior Prom. And now, our minds go back twoyears--September of the year 1952 and our sophomore year. .Terry Crirnmins and Nick Coniguliaro joined the class. With our advisers Mrs. Castronovo and Mr. Chuff and President Mike Ladd we sponsored a traditional Soph Dance. Deanna Snow held a birthday party, and the year was closed with a sophomore picnic, remember ? In our freshman year we recall the Frosh Hop, Frank Favat, our president, and advisers Miss Braidwood and Mrs. Reina. We musm't forget Bob Daley and Rosella Valent's famous par- ties. Thus, we remember our freshman year. And so it goes--reminiscing that we could add no end to the activities and memories sur- I rounding each one of us-The Class of '55, These were the Best Years of Our Lives and now the doors are closing, but we can see new ones opening. . 20 A, 'wiw The Class of '55 being of serni-equal physical and mental ability, do declare this our last will and testament. The Frankfort-Schuyler-Central gridders romped through the season un- beaten and untied to win its first Mid-State Conference Title. On the Varsity squad of twenty-three boys, sixteen were seniors, including ten of the first eleven. Frankfort racked up 117 points while yielding only 19. F.C.S. is honored by the selection of Leland Ladd to the Up-State New York All Star Football Squad. The team, its mentor, Coach Chuff, and his assistants, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Kopza, should be lauded for an outstanding grid season.
