PRY, RAN SW Ea oS FEV Te welt ob Dy. MUD Ur, era Pride is interpreted by some to mean conceit. To Frankfort students, however, pride is the self-respect that allows us to settle for nothing less than the best from ourselves. Taking pride in our team, despite a 6-4 season, players refused to show disappointment, and, instead, tried only harder to succeed. Pride to band members meant precision and har- mony which was recognized with first place honors in parade and field show competitions. Outside of school, students exhibited community pride by contributing services to local organizations. Fire companies in Ridgeley, Wiley Ford, Short Gap, and Fort Ashby involved students. Through church youth groups, many found themselves working to bet- ter their community. Keeping their cars waxed to a mirror shine exhibited the pride of some individuals. Vocational students took pride in their skills while academic students took pride in their grade point averages. Many displayed this trait by achieving awards or goals in per- sonal recreation or by just being the best friend they could be. Pride was exhibited in the appearance of Frankfort students as they walked around with their chins tipped slightly higher than the average person's. A happy group of Frankfort band members are proud of their vic- tory in the Martinsburg competition. Greg Long, Darrin Wolford, and John Smith have pride in the fire department. eae
