Whether on the football field or on the ten- nis court, we practiced and sweated endless hours striving to be the best. Getting home from practice after six didn’t allow much time to eat and do all of the homework the teachers expected us to do. Climbing out of bed with stiff necks and sore legs seemed to be worthwhile when we won a game or our own event. Although we didn’t win as much as we wanted to, we were proud of our achievements.
