Dave Rector and Sonya Twigg seem to think that these trophies are just a few more to add to the collection. The Falcon Band finished the year with more success. After working many months they were able to raise the money needed for the Six Flags Band Festival Competition in Jackson, NJ. The band received first place in their division and brought back awards for best drum majors, majorettes, color guard, and drum line. They were also named first runner-up in the entire competition. Con- gratulations, Band! Michele Clayton and the members of the rifle squad perform their hat dance to “Birdland.” 114
