Homecoming On the frigid evening of October 2, 1981 Patricia Johnson was crowned Miss Homecoming. Her escort was Shawn Barn- cord. The candidates, band members, and the capacity crowd watched the game with chattering teeth. Most of the football players (even though fired up) had numb fingers and feet. But through the sub-zero temperature we still cheered our Falcons on. Mary Mason’s hard work during the summer months paid off as she was selected Miss Falcon VI on August 26, 1981. Through hoagie sales, chicken bar-b-ques and benefit dances, the ten contestants earned. Five girls were nominated from each grade to be voted on as Miss Sweetheart for their class. The members of each grade voted on their own ‘“‘sweetheart’’ and the four winners were crowned at the Sweetheart Dance which was held February 13.
