This year’s Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 5 at the Holiday Inn in Cumberland. Spitfire provided the music for the gala event which was well attended. Almost all of the decorations used on the tables and throughout the Appalachian Room were made by members of the junior class. Hopefully an enjoyable time was had by all. AND Princess 171

Our Graduation Senior Welcome Given By Robin Kimble Senior Address Given By Tammy Piper GRADUATION DAY — MAY 24, 1978 The day for which we had long awaited finally arrived. To our dismay, we had to have our graduation exercises in the gymnasium rather than in the stadium because of a spring deluge. Even though it was quite warm, and the sound system wasn’t the best, it was still ‘Our Graduation,’’ and no one or no thing could take away the pride we felt for finally attaining that goal for which we had strived twelve long years. Many of us received awards of one kind and another which added to the feeling of achievement. All in all, it was a momentous occasion, one that we will remember for the rest of our lives. 173
