Girls’ Volleyball Although the Girls’ Volleyball Team did not compete with individual schools, they did participate in two invitational competitions. Members were (first row) Manager Sarah Riley, Debbie Lambert, Cindy Light, Josie Shafferman, Coach Brakeall, (second row) Tammy Combs, Dana Crone, Phyllis Zollner, Kim Wolford, Lisa Bradley, Julie Kephart, Leanne Tipton, and Gale Campbell. The girls worked especially hard for three weeks in attempting to learn power volleyball. They competed in a Round Robin Tournament at Potomac State College, emerging as victors. Shortly thereafter, they participated in an invitational at West Virginia University where they were knocked out in the early going. Although this was a new type of competition for the girls, it was a job well done. 123
