SUMMER 87 I) Girls and Boys State members u ert Jack Morrison. Jeff Herndon. Brian Werner. Mark Ransom. Rana Dogar.Jeannit Dupler. and Angie Clark 3) Representing the Blue and White Band Angie Clark traveled to a camp during the summer for drum majors School was out and the students were bursting with excitement as their summer activities began. While many were soaking up the sun during either work or play, other students were participating in school-related activities. Few people would spend a week away at a camp that made physical and mental demands on their lives. Dedicated to their sport, class, or extra-curricular activity, students went to camps all over the midwest to improve themselves and to represent FSHS. Senior leaders, Angie Clark, Jeannie Dupler, Rana Dogar, Jeff Herndon, Jack Morrison, Mark Ransom, and Brian Werner attended Girls and Boys State at Indiana State University. Choir, Band, and Orchestra students traveled to music camps to improve their music skills. Drum Major Angie Clark participated in a special camp to team the art of being an effective drum major. Academic camps included the Midwest Yearbook Experience conference, to which Travis Sheets and Mandy Sebree traveled. Mark Ransom also attended an academic conference, Opportunities to Learn About Business. The Cheerleading and Pup-pette squads traveled to camps to improve their performance abilities. The Puppettes returned with a Grand Champion trophy from their final day competition. FSHS coaches sent their athletes to camp to improve their skills and to have the opportunity to work with other athletes from throughout Indiana. Summer ended, but the knowledge, friendships, and fun these students experienced carried on into the 1987-88 school year. 4 SUMMER

FADS The 1987-88 school year brought about many new styles as well as making use of many of the popular, old styles. The skirts were mini'' as well as long. Depending upon your particular choice of styles, your outfit may have consisted of either a cropped sweater or a long one with a belt. Perhaps you found the baggy, loose look over the tight look of stretch pants. Even the guys followed the fashion scene in their stonewashed attire. Some chose to go with this year’s fashion of boots while others opted to go with last year's fashion of high tops. The ever popular Levi's look maintained its fashion standing in the halls of FSHS. Those not caught up in the fashion scene found themselves caught up in this year’s fads. These fads were as varied as this year's fashions. From skateboarders to video lovers on their Nintendo games, students entertained themselves with these new fads. Some students spent their weekend nights at the movies watching such box office hits as Dirty Dancing, Fatal Attraction, Good Morning Vietnam, or Three Men and a Baby. Whenever their pocket-books or schedules allowed, many students enjoyed attending rock concerts like U2, John Cougar Mellencamp, or Whitesnake. Even if a student was not wrapped up in the fads and fashions of this year, everyone must agree it was so cool’’ to he an FSHS student. FASHIONS 2 1) Relaxed in a casual outfit, Wendy Colder modeled her new outfit from the Limited. 2) Andy Oberhoulser and Amanda Ostler sported the 50 V style in their senior cords. 3) Tanya Weidner and Matt Smith preferred the Pasta and frosted jean look. 4) Jenny Strain posed in her frosted mini skirt and jacket. 6 FADS AND FASHIONS
