So much of our surroundings arc changing. The uptown is growing, expanding to better serve the Frankfort area. The Sears building we once went shopping in, is now being torn down and made into a parking lot. The old Boy's Club has been converted into a mini-mall, with a gym above it. Kentucky Fried Chicken moved from West Walnut out to the East end of town. Dominoes will move in its old spot. The famous Strip will be out of use while the jog is being repaired. Wal-Mart moved in out by the high school, along with several other businesses, not to mention Ponderosa. Condo's are being built anywhere there's room, and a new motel was built. Two years ago we watched Clinton Prairie break the ground to build their new elementary-middle school. This year we watch as we prepare to build a new middle school out behind the high school. We will never forget the pond and the woods that are now being replaced with steel and concrete. The scenes are changing and they are changing in Frankfort. Old buildings are being torn down. Pictured here are the Sears building and the Ingram building. Gone are memories and past ideas. Replaced with new dreams and growing hopes.

This year's book is dedicated to Amber Leigh Storm, who left us on July 13th, 1986. She left us all wondering why a girl who appreciated the life surrounding her decided to turn it in for death. A midst the confused thoughts there shines many memories. Memories that we will hold onto, memories that will keep us going when we start to drag our chins. She was constantly relating to verses in songs that reflected special meanings in her life. She appreciated music, all types. She was the rare type of a person who could hear the wind's quiet song in the trees. The outdoors, she was a fan of Mother Nature. She enjoyed the beauty of the spring flowers blooming, the green grass of summer, the autumn leaves turning and the white snow blankets of winter. Amber had the talent of writing, she wanted to become a journalist. How easy it was for her to write about a sunset. She could describe it so well, it was as if you were there sharing it with her. Sharing, she would share her kindness with others, she was a true friend to anyone who knew her. At the end of the year Amber was excited as ever. Excited to continue on in life, to progress ahead. She had dreams she wanted to come true and she knew what direction to find them. She always said to look back on your life and appreciate those younger times. Because now it was time to go forward. Amber could brighten the darkest days, she always knew what to say or do. She was constantly reaching out to others. It's too late to reach out to Amber, but we can reach out to others in memory. As Billy Joel sang in his song only the good die young and Amber you died in your prime. 23
