Well, this just happens to be an appropriate title for these two pages. Everywhere a person walks, they are there. Those sad ones, that make you frown a little or the happy one that turns the frown into a smile! Then there are those which are mad and say Outta my way! and the glad ones which tell us Whew — I'm glad that class is over! Last, but not least, the faces which are just a bit roughed up and make us stick out even more than usual. Yes, they're all there — just look around. You'll find yourself in the crowd somewhere and sometime. Just look! P.S. By the way. Rodney — How's your nose?! sHappen M®V — What's Happening'll'' Sound familiar? It's a typical to hear someone say this in the hallway. Now. you're wondering — just what is happening? Well. It's you! You make the decisions like what should I do? Is this the class I want? Should I go out tonight? Just by looking around in and out of school, you see things happening. Do you want to be a part of it'5 Only you can decide for yourself and choose your fate So the next time someone asks you what s happening?1 reolv ____ ME! I'm what's happening' Opening 9 Frankfort Football Homecoming 10 Opening Activities Sept. 21, 1984 On September 21, 1984, the Frankfort Hot Dogs hosted the Brownsburg Bulldogs. The evening began at 4 p.m. with the traditional egg toss and tricycle race and a caravan at 6:30 led the fans to a Pep Rally at 7:00 p.m. The billboard contests were won by the Junior Class and FHA. At half-time. Senior Megan Jo Miller was crowned homecoming queen by Sarah Scheidler, 1983 queen's court member. Megan's court consisted of senior members Beth Glover, Jeanne Hall, Cindy Mason and June Meiers. Junior attendants were Stephanie Mason and Margo Morrison, with sophomores being Grace Chen and Lisa Lowden. Freshmen members were Lisa Roustio and Chris Tegarden. Even though Brownsburg won by a score of 6-42. the evening was filled with excitement for all who were involved. Openng Senior fThe Class of 1985 presented A Murder Has Been Arranged as their class play on November 8th and 9th. The : play was about a man. Professor Charles Jasper (played by Todd Lap-pin), who will inherit two million dollars if j$r. he lives to his fortieth birthday and his £ long-lost relative. Mr Austin (played by Tim Miller). Mr Austin comes for a visit ; and kills Professor Jasper so he wiH re-i cieve the two million dollars. Instead, he is tricked into believing Professor Jasper is alive and confesses to the . murder at a dinner party. Many congratulations goes to the j cast and crew for the performances S: that were well acted. Two special thank-you's belong to Mr. Martin Hen-. J derson. the director, for his patience and hard work and Barb Mondary for the wonderful work on the costumes iv Thanks to all and Congratulations to 9M the class of 1985! : WCWrtng Action In The Classroom 14 Opeotng Math. English. Biology, and Social Sciences. Everyone takes them right? But what about Clothing. Art. Physics, or Welding? Ever wonder what goes on in those classes, what kind of creations are being thought up? Although these classes aren't photographed as often, it doesn't mean they are any less important at F.S.H.S. It just means not everyone knows about them or what goes on. So just to be a little creative and different, photographs were taken to give some insight to the future students of these classes. You might see something that looks like fun or interesting and decide Hey. I think I'll join that class. and put your mind to work and create. Remember the only item which holds you back is you — so GO FOR IT! and as Mr Page says, EAT ‘EM UP! Action In The Classroom Openmg 15 In Honor Of A Man Who Touched Our Lives ... Everyone must leave something behind when he dies... a child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die. and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you're there. It doesn't matter what you do ... so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that's like you after you take your hands away. The difference between the man who just cuts lawns and a real gardener is in the touching .. The lawn-cutter might just as well not have been there at all; the gardener will be there a lifetime. — Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451 Dave Prosser was that gardener, and we need only to look around us to see evidence of his touch. ... This 1985 Cauldron Is Dedicated To David I. Prosser The Foreign Language Department at Frankfort High School includes French, taught by Mr. Charles Herndon, and Spanish, taught by Miss Dona Irion. Participation in Foreign Languages have increased greatly this year. Approximately sixty percent of the whole student body is taking a foreign language course. A majority of these students are freshmen in the first year classes. Foreign Language classes not only study the language but they also research the culture and way of life of the countries that speak the language Cultural knowledge of the countries who speak Spanish or French give our students a better understanding of the language they study. Foreign Language The English Department bases itself around grammer and literature with all new text books and new teaching techniques. This year the Freshmen are required to complete four yeors of English, unlike fhe pasf years where students were only required to take three years of English to graduate. Mrs. Pletch. department head, teaches Senior English classes along with one junior class. Mrs. Meyer has only juniors. Miss McDowell teaches juniors, sophomores, and a journalism class. Mr. Myer only teaches sophomores. and the Freshmen teachers are Mr. Rempala and Miss Boerste Mrs. Buck is the Reading Lab instructor and is the head of the Exploratory Teaching program, where students assist teachers at the local elementary schools. English The speech and drama classes are under the direction of Mr. Henderson. First year speech is offered only to juniors and seniors. In the first year, speech students learn to walk. talk. sit. stand, debate and of course give speeches. If students like the first year, a second year is offered to seniors for advanced speech or drama. Advanced speech covers much more debating and goes in depth in speeches. In drama classes, students make and design the stages used in the productions here at the high school. For people interested in public speaking, speech is a must. Or if they just want to overcome their fears of standing up and talking in front of a crowd. Speech is worth the time to take. Speech Drama 20 Academics There are a total of six courses offered in Social Science. Civics. World History, U.S. History, Current World Affairs, Sociology, and Government, plus Indiana History, for those students taking drivers education. As a junior U.S. History is a required course and as a senior Socilogy and Government is required. Teaching all these subjects is a tough job, but Mr. Rucker, Mr. Waddell, Mr Stuart, and Mr. Shepard, have proven that they can handle the task. Social Sciences With today's technology, business training is a major asset. Business background is a great help in college or in everyday life from learning basic typing skills to data processing in the computer world. This year's Business Department offers a variety of classes. These include Typing, Shorthand, Office Practice, Bookkeeping, Accounting, Computers, General Business, Data and Word Processing. Heading the Business Department is Mrs. Carol Knapp who teaches typing, word processing and also directs the C.O.E. program. Mrs. Prosser teaches typing, shorthand, and office practice. Mr. Cleaver teaches typing and computers. Mrs. Henderson teaches all the Accounting classes and also teaches business law. Mrs. Milholland teaches typing, business communications and Word Processing. Mrs. Humphery joined the business department this year in General Business and Computers after Teaching at the Junior High School. Business Science requirements changed this year due to concerns of the State and Federal government regarding education in the U.S.A. State mandates now require that, starting with this year's freshmen, all students must have two years of laboratory science for graduation. They must take one year of the requirement in life science and one year in physical science. Students may choose from Biology. Advanced Biology. Chemistry. Advanced Chemistry. Physics. Earth Science, and Applied Earth Science. Instructors in the Science department are: Mr. Henninger, Earth Science. Mr. Rule and Mr. Davis. Biology. Ms Leisure. Chemistry, and Mr Palmer, Physics and Applied Science. Science Two years of math doesn't sound like fun but it is required here at Frankfort. At least there is a choice in what you can take, two years of algebra, or one year of high phase algebra and one year of geometry. For those who like a challenge or planning on going to college junior and senior math courses are also offers. In the teacher department of mathematics Mr. Page. Mr. Palmer. Mr. Moyer. Mr. Niehaus and the dreaded Mr. Schilling are the force behind it all. Math The Home Economics Department offers Advanced and Beginning. Clothing. Beginning Foods. Advanced Foods. Child Dev., Housing, and HERO Organizations. Mrs. Platt is the head of the department and head of HERO Club too. Teaching the other classes are Mrs. Burns and Mrs. Mosson. Their goal is to teach students about the outside world and to teach the students to solve problems and analyze ideas. They show you how to manage a home with all its responsibilities. Home Ec. 25 Mr. Sawicki is the Art instructor here at Frankfort Senior High. In this class students learn to draw, sketch, paint, and do onything with their hands, with only their imagination holding them back. To take Art you must be at least a sophomore and can take it all three years. Art seems to be easy, but a student has to push themselves to create their best. Having the finished product as the result of hours of hard work is probably the greatest reqard. Who knows, maybe some day Frankfort will produce the next Van Gogh. The Industrial Arts department continues to offer courses in Mechanical Drawing, Printing, Electronics. Metal Shop. Auto Mechanics, and Building Trades. Students may choose to take 2nd and 3rd year training in most areas. Industrial Arts programs are designed for both the student who wishes to follow one of the areas for a career as well as those who take a course for the experience. Teacher turn-over in the Industrial Arts Department has been non-existent in the last few years. Mr Hughes heads the department and teaches Auto Mechanics. Mr Catlin teaches Printing, Mr. Bennett guides the Metal Shop. Mr. Myers the Building Trades program and Mr Warthan directs the Electronics program. Industrial Arts The ROTC program had five different areas involved. The JROTC Battalion Color Guard, the JROTC Girls Drill Team the JROTC Boy's Drill Team, the JROTC Battalion Staff and the JROTC Rifle team. Colonel Jones heads the program here at the high school and is proud of it. The ROTC program does many things here at the school. They have a ROTC Ball every year and they compete in several contests One can walk down the ROTC Hallway and see that there are many trophies and plaques in the case which shows how dedication and hard work pays off. Congratulations ROTC!! ROTC P.E., physical education, everyone has to take it whether they like it or not. It is easier to like the sweating, the cold showers, and the horrible caleisth-enics for two years than to hate them. P.E. is taught by Mrs. Thompson. Mr Mullen. Mr Kersey and Miss Jacoby. They are in charge of the many activities. ranging from life saving to scooter soccer. P.E. does not seem like the ultra class to have to take but it helps keep the body in shape. This year the Radio and T.V. classes have 60 first year students and 24 advanced students. The first year students produce an interview, a television commercial, a demonstration. and simulated radio programs. Advanced students are essentially responsible for handling CSF. Cable Channel 3's sports programming. This year they covered football, volleyball, wrestling, boys' and girls' basketball, baseball, and track. Approximately one-third of the students go on to study the field of braodcasting in college. Several former students have landed jobs in the field ... most notably. Gary Rice, who works at Channel 46 in South Bend, and Brad Shaw, who works at a Kentucky Radio station. This is Mr. Snoddy's sixth year of teaching at FHS. He is currently working on his master's degree in education at Purdue University. He encourages all students to consider taking Broadcasting ... both boys and girls. You will receive experience in writing broadcast copy as well as announcing skills. Radio TV 30 Acpdemics The music department consists of three sections. Band, choir, and orchestra. They all three compete in contests (solo and ensamble) throughout the year. The band is supporters at the football and basketball games with its pep band. The choir and orchestra go around the county and perform for elementary schools, Jr. High, nursing homes, service clubs and others. The choir classes are taught by Miss Lins. There are four different choirs: swing, treble, concert, and freshmen. They each have their own music to work with. There is a Freshmen and Blue and White band taught by Mr. Wainscott. The orchestra is taught by Ms. Priest. She also directs selected students from the band and orchestra to play together in the Big Brodcast and Graduation, which are the last performances for both the choirs and orchestra. Music Academics 31 Ever wonder how much work goes into producing a yearbook Well, there's atot A ladder must be drawn up so al staff members know what pages are what, books and advertisements must be sold m order to keep prices down on the costs of the book and to pay for publishing. layouts drawn, pictures cropped, and copy wrote and typed Deadlines oiso must be met with a certain amount of pages to be sent in each time it takes a lot of hard work, determination. headaches, and dedication for a book to be a success The 1984-85 staff members wre Donna Johnson. who was the Editor Gina Lucas and BiH Banks worked on Athletics and Kim Beard and Ldnce Gregcxre helped out on the Academic section Lori East and Manda Camp put the album section together and Lon also indexed Melissa Galeener took care of the Organizations and Todd Lappm. Gdry Goode and Peg Harsh-barger were in charge of Advertisements Our photographers were Troy Schimmel. Gary Crum, and Phil Rucker Of course, there's our wonderful leader and advisor. Mr Reece Hemnger All in aH. the hard work and determination pays off when others see a successful book Cauldron Staff 32 Academics The school newspaper, the High Life, is one of the many publications produced by Frankfort Senior High School students. Members are responsible for selling ads. which helps in keeping costs down when it comes to selling the paper to students. Members also write stories, type them up. and draw layouts of what each page will feature. Miss McDowell is the advisor. She oversees the production and makes sure the students do their work correctly. Sandy Siegfried is the editor with Shelly Keimig to help out as page editor. Jason Bricker and Scott Miller take care of the sports and Tim Robison, Margo Morrison, and Bridget Bradley help out everyone with their reporting. Eric Howard and Gloria Haynes are the typists. High Life Seniors!! We Can't Believe it! We made it! It was a long journey to get here, yet. it seems like yesterday we started out as freshmen. Through it all, we stuck together and proved just how tough the class of 1985 was! Our final year brought us many memories like football, basketball, Big Broadcast. Spring Break, prom, and most importantly GRADUATION! Kip Scheidler (Pres). Scott Hiland (V. Pres), Beth Glover (Sec), and Grace Ann Miller (Treas) led us to a successful year and one that was rather special. From the halls of F.S.H.S. we began to build our future and we will be forever grateful. Upon this school we left many marks, like being the most spirited to rowdiest, but long live the Class of '85!! Pg- 36 — 1 Joni Gosewher checks her accounting. 2. You Made It!! Goode Is Great!! Who's the first person you think of when the word basketball is said? Gary Goode immediately comes to mind. He played varsity basketball for four years under the leadership of Coach John Milholland. Gary has brought many honors to himself, the team, and to the school. His Talent and hard work earned a spot as a member on the 1985 Indiana All-Stars Team. He was a three-year member of the All-Clinton County Team, named to the All-Lafayette Area Team, and an All-Conference player not to mention other numerous teams. Along with these honors, he set four new school records. He made the most free throws (196), the most points scored (682). and the highest scoring average (27.3 points game) all in one season. Gary also set the record for the most career points ever — 1,511 points. To continue his basketball career. he will be playing at Northeast Missouri State with full ride scholarship. Goode Luck Gary! We're proud of you!! 56 Album Cauldron Staff I'm the chief; I'm running this show. These words could be heard many times by Mr. Heninger during sixth hour in the Cauldron room. It soon became a joke with the Cauldron staff and they posted these words on the bulletin board so no one would ever forget them, (which no one probably will.) Mr. Heninger is the advisor of the yearbook, overseeing the design of the cover, keeping track of the financial situation, and generally making sure that the staff members keep their work on schedule and do quality work. It takes a man with patience to survive through a year of making a book because it's such a long-drawn out process. Mr. Heninger is that man and the Cauldron staff just wants to say a very special THANK-YOU!!! to a very special teacher. Keep on going Reece: We love YaM Mr Reece Heninger — It has been my pleasure to work with you these past three years, two of those being the Editor for you. Although we had numerous arguments, stomping our feet and raising our voices trying to get our points across to each other it was worth it. You taught me that I didn't always know everything and wasn't always right, but through persistence, dedication, and hard work. I could do anything I set out to do and do my best. Thanks for being patient enough and putting up with m© — | know it wasn't always easiest for you. Also thanks for helping me grow up a little and decide where I want to go in life. I'll miss you and all your yelling at me, but I'm leaving that for Gina — right?! Thanks for being our Advisor — we couldn't have done it without you!! The team displayed an aggressive attitude as well as team enthusiasm throughout the season. The defense was the heart and soul of the team and during the season, many opposing coaches commented about the team's fine defense and tenacious hitting ability. On offense. they slowly learned their blocking assignments and steadily improved. The team record this year was only 4 wins and 6 losses, but 4 of these 6 losses were to top ten teams in the state. Three seniors led the team: Cindy Mason, Tracy Platt and Angie Mitchell, and they all left good examples to follow. Skills and fundamentals were much improved upon this year, and should even be better next year with seven returning juniors and one sophomore at varsity level. At the end of the season several awards and honors were given out. Tracy Platt received most valuable and mental attitude awards. Tracy was also picked to the conference's first team. The biggest problem they faced this season was not enough swimmers involved. Many people do not realize that 5 out of 6 swimmers score in a meet. The 4th and 5th places often make a difference. Lisa Bock, the team's most valuable swimmer, broke 4 school records and one conference record, that was quite an accomplishment for a freshmen. Most improved went to Melissa Conklin and Super Senior was recieved by Sandy Siegfried. Athletics 99 THE 1984 CROSS COUNTRY TEAM was characterized by a temerity of useful youthfulness. Running against highly competitive, upper-class dominant squads, our “kiddie” corps suffered in the win lost column. Led by the perky Craig Rich, the fiesty young troupe sped through the season with effervessence and stability. The vital signs are positive for an upswing in the cross-country diagnosis. Many people do not realize how the Sectional and Regional work. In the wrestling Sectional there were six teams, and out of this the fighting Dogs placed first. The individual winners from Sectional then go on to Regional. Where out of twenty-one teams they placed fifth. The only individual winner from Regional who went to Semi-State was Jason. There were fourteen fellows who participated on the team. The only seniors were Kevin Price, John Oppelt, Mark Carr and Ray Bobbit, who through hard work and effort set an example for fellow underclassmen to follow. GOOD JOB WRESTLERS!!!! Thanks Junior Class for a night to remember! A Momen, 127 I am Manami Taniguchi and I am 17 years old. I'm from Tokyo. I Japan, which is the largest city with ten million people in it. The 1 people in Frankfort are very friendly They say hello to me even 1 if I don't know them. In Toyko we don't have these type of 1 conversations 1 Although I am a senior at F.S.H.S.. I'm a junior in Japan 1 walk to 1 school because we don't have buses and we can't drive until we I are 18. We don't have driving classes at school so we must take I private driving lessons and they cost $1200 — so many students 1 ride bicycles, trains, or the public bus. } I live with The Jones : Kenneth. Jeanne. Michelle, and Rusty. Michelle is a junior here at Frankfort. I love them so much and have lot of fun with them. I have two younger sisters in Japan who are 11 and 14 years old. School was very hard for me. It was difficult to understand in all my classes, but my teachers, friends and family helped me a lot. In Japan, we can't pick our classes and we study about 13 classes. We also don't have the same schedule each day. but weekly ones Except for cooking. P.E.. Science and Arts, the students stay in the same room and the teachers move. School is on Saturday, too. It is so much different here in America. This has been the greatest year of my life. I hope I can come back and visit with all my friends. I enjoyed all the clubs and activities I was in like F-Club. Z Club. Pep Club. Swimming. Managing the Girls Basketball and Tennis teams. I especially enjoyed the Boys Basketball Team — they did GREAT! I love you Frankfort Hot Dogs and I will miss you soooo much!! Good Luck Hot Dogs and Thanks for everything!! Frankfort's Foreign Exchange I am Freddy Steen Petersen and am 18 years old. I live on FAN; 1 a small island with about 3400 people, on the west coast ot 1 mgum Denmark My home town Is Nordby and is very old. It gives the 1 tourists the feeling they are back in the 18 century. The school in Denmark are different than in America. We go to school for 9 or 10 years wifh the tenth year being optional. The tenth year is a class which you can get ready to leave school. Your economic position does not affect your chances to further your education. Students do not have the same classes everyday, but study around 12 subjects. The amount of homework is about the same, but the many exams make school a little hectic. You are always thinking of your grades One of fhe many things I have enjoyed over here is the school's athletics. It gives the schools lots of spirit. I loved watching the football team play and the amazing basketball team. I enjoyed being on the swim team because I've never tried anything so physically and mentally demanding. In Denmark I played soccer, handball, tennis, and badminton, but practice was two times a week and we don't kill ourselves like over here. The formal dances are really something special because its tun to dress up and you have a nice memory. The Big Broadcast was extremely good. I didn't know there were so many talented students here. I am staying with the Mayer family: Bill, Kris, Jennifer. Jim. and John. I'll miss them when I return to Denmark. When I return, I'm going to a 3-year college and afterwards I hope to move to Australia. I hope all my friends will visit me in Denmark because should know something about us Danes. Thanks for this year, it t been a wonderful experience. I hope I can come back sometir to say “HI . I will miss F.S.H.S. and my friends, so take care Frankfort!!!! IA Special Moment I am Jerry Chua and I am from the Philippines. I live in Quezon City. I have two sister and a twin brother who is also in the YFU program this year. He is now in North Carolina. Julie and Jannet are the names of my sisters, my Mom and Dad are Juanita and James. I am now staying with George, Donna and John Koppelmann. I wanted to thank my parents for letting me join this exchange student program. I am really enjoying my stay here at Frankfort. I am hoping to come back next year. The student and the Teachers here are really friendly to me. There is one thing I like in Frankfort and that is the homework, is easier here than it is in the Philippines. Students Of 1984-85! My name is Ana Blanca Gallo. I am 17 years old, and I am an exchange student from Spain. I am staying with the Smith family, and I have two sisters. Heather and Cindy. In Spain. I live in Burgos a city of 180.CXX) people in Northern Spain. I have a younger sister Veronica, who is 12 years-old. My Spanish school has 2.000 students. Our classes are harder than in the U.S. and most of them are required. Some of them are: Latin. Greek, Math. Physics. Literature. Philosophy, etc ... When I go back to Spain, I will start my Senior year. Then, I plan to attend the University of Madrid and study Political and Economic Science, and become a Diplomat. I am really enjoying my stay in the U.S., expecially our trip to Florida, and my host families horses (I love horseback riding). I will never forget either, the Basketball season and your school spirit. Your cold weather, is also going to be something to remember. At school. I am also involved in tennis, Z-Club and French Club. A Special Moment 129 130 A Special Moment ROTC Ball The night of the 1984-85 ROTC Ball was a special night. On that night. Bridgett Bradley was crowned as the 1984-85 ROTC queen. ROTC members hope to make every ball bigger and better than the one before it. If this year's ROTC Ball was an example of the years to come, each one should be a memorable experience. INTRAMURALS What is intramurals? It is the most vital organ in the human body and became the issue in two separate incidents. First, there was the Baby Fae controversy, and second, the advancement of heart operations and transplants. Baby Fae became the center of attention when doctors surgically implanted a baboon's heart into Baby Fae, thus making it the first animal-human heart transplant. Although she only lived a few short weeks. Baby Fae's controversy brought a new awareness to the medical community that in the future, such operations may become common. On November 25. 1984. William Schroeder of Jasper. Indiana, became the world's second artificial heart recipient. Doctors implanted the heart, otherwise known as the Jarvix 7. A third recipient, Murray Haydon, received his new heart on February 17, 1985. Each day these men live brings new information to doctors who hope that operations such as these may soon be the key to future organ implantations. Super Bowl XIX featured two of the nation's best professional quarterbacks — Dan Marino of the Miami Dolphins and Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49'ers. For the winners, it was a day of records, for the losers, it was also a day of records. San Francisco's offense set eleven Super Bowl records, including three touchdowns from Roger Craig and 28 points in the first half with 21 of those points coming in the second quarter. 49'er quarterback. Joe Montana, set two records — a passing record of 331 yards (breaking Terry Bradshaw's old record of 313) and a record for the most yardage gained by a quarterback of 59 yards in five carries. As for the losing Miami Dolphins, they set records too. They only ran the ball nine times and for quarterback Dan Marino, he too, broke the old record of 313 yards with 318 yards but it took him a record 50 times of passing to do so. In the end, the 49'ers beat the Dolphins 38-16. Starvation and drought plagued the continent of Africa and several of its nations severely in late 1984 and early 1985. As many as 5 million people have starved and died with the suffering still going on. Relief agencies such as the Red Cross have raised money and helped with provided food to the starving people. Musicians alike, have also pledged their help. Two such groups. Band-Aid of made up of British musicians. and USA for Africa. American musicians, have both produced records to sell with the proceeds going into funds to provide relief and to send aid to these nations. E T H I NBA It took six games to decide the P championship, but the LA Lakers . won. They dashed any hopes of the Boston Celtics repeating as A champions with the outstanding play of Kareem Abdul-Jabar, who was named MVP of the series. Larry Bird, of the Boston Celtics, and his teammates tried unsuccessfully to become the fifth team in the history of the NBA to win back-to-back championships. It's 6:30 a.m. and you are just getting up to get ready for school at 8.00 a.m. With the new state law that requires students to have 360 minutes of instructed teaching, the school year turned out to be a long one. Many club memberships suffered a loss of members and some totally didn't meet at all Some students and teachers liked the idea of coming to school at 8:00 a.m. and getting out at 3:00 p.m.. but the majority of students didn't. For the seniors, they didn't get their “Senior Week that they had dreamed of since their freshmen days and ended up going an extra two weeks of school. Gina — I left you last of all staff members for a couple of reasons. First — I wish to thank you dearly and sincerely from the bottom of my heart for all your dedication. You helped me out so much that I do not know how to thank you except to say Thank You Very Much! All your hard work and dedication has helped me to turn this book around and make it the best it could be and has been for the past two years. Second — I'm handing over to you a big responsibility and challenge because I know you can face it and can give 100% to keep it working. Along with all this will come the headaches and joys I have had for two years as Editor. I learned a lot from working on this book and others and I hope you will too. I know you will make a fine Editor and I hope you have as much fun next year as I have this past year producing the yearbook. Remember always to smile, keep you head up. and do your best — then you will succeed. Keep Mr. Reece in line for me! Best Wishes and Good Luck Always! Dick Maurer — Hey what happened? We didn't see you, hear you sing or tell terrible jokes as much this year! (Thank God — I guess there really are miracles!) I'M just joking!! Really though, without you. this book wouldn't be what it is today. You kept us straight on deadlines and helped straighten out the little inconveniences that come up! Thanks Super Bunches — I appreciate it! Again, I say thank-you for all your help — it has been fund and a pleasure to work with you. To the 1984-85 Cauldron Staff — It has been a pleasure working with all of you. Whatever differences we may have had. they are behind us now. I hope all of you have gained some valuable experience in the areas of cooperation, patience, and responsibility. These three factors helped keep this book going. Remember all the fun we had too — my sternness at the beginning, our celebration parties. Kim's giggles. Mr. H and my shouting matches (which of course I won!). Dick's jokes and singing, Todd falling off the chair, and all the days between. It has been fun. very hard at times, but through cooperation, pride, and determination, we survived. Thanks to each of you for all your hard work an I wish the best to everyone in the future and will miss all of you! To the Students and Faculty at F.S.H.S. — On behalf of the staff. I thank you for all the compliments we received about the books we have produced. It has been a pleasure to work for you and to produce a quality book that reflects the many activities that went on during the school year. I hope as you look through this book, you remember all the fun times shared with your friends, the pain experienced that helped you grow, and enjoy looking back at the past year.
