SCIENCE Cutting into a shark or a frog may not seem like the most thrilling thing to do, but if you are an advanced Biology student it becomes an everyday task. The future Einsteins of Chemistry class may find the road difficult but behold there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have many different science classes at F.S.H.S. and we are sure to find something that interests you. Remember the days when the smells in the halls were so bad and your continuous headache throbbed? We began to wonder if the biology class would keep the sharks over vacation. But the science department is one of the best, and we shall forgive them for the odors. 21

INDUSTRIAL ARTS Auto mechanics, electronics, mechanical drawing, metal shop, and printing are the classes offered by the industrial arts department. For second year students ddvanced classes are also offered. These classes are an excellent way to develop skills that can be used in the future. It takes alot of perfection and patience to be successful in one of these skills, and the classes offered here give one o head start. Although the classes have been ruled by boys the female gender is slowly invading the industrial arts classes and someday may turn the tradition around. 20

HOME ECONOMICS When the aroma of homebaked cookies and rolls float through the halls everyone seems to pass by the cooking room. Our very diversified Home Economics department attracts many students. In the past Home Ec. was a class thought for girls, but today everyone participates in cooking, sewing, housing, family living, child care, and others. The HERO program and many other vocational training classes are originated in the Home Ec. Department. Here we find the Betty Crockers, Galloping Gourmets, and leaders of tomorrow. 22
