laughter and life highlight finian's rainbow Finian's Rainbow is the story of a plucky Irishman, Finian McLonergin, and his daughter Sharon. Finian has stolen a pot of gold worth three wishes from Og, the leprechaun, and buries it near Fort Knox in Rainbow Valley, Missintucky. There, Sharon falls in love with Woody Mahoney, and Og, rapidly becoming mortal, falls in love with Woody's mute sister Susan. Trouble comes when Sharon accidentally wishes a senator black and is accused of witchcraft. They means that Og, at the cost of becoming mortal, uses to turn the senator white again and give Susan the ability to speak provide laughs enough for everyone. out of this world The Out of this world hosts for the 1972 Big Broadcast were seniors Martha Eller and Andy Albano. Their humorous between-acts dialogues highlighted the fine show. The fanciful show included music from a traditional English ballad to folk-rock to futuristic moon music. Acts traditionally appearing included the Swing and Concert Choirs, the ROTC Drill Team, and the Pupettes. Vocal solos were performed by Becky Smith and Bob Creeno, and Kim Reynolds danced a ballet solo. Much of the music played by the pit and dance bands was arranged by Aden Long. He was assisted by student director Mike Frey and asst. Karen Turner.
