“Charge the Blockhouse!” Arsenic and Old Lace'' As the house lights dimmed for the opening performance of “Arsenic and Old Lace” the curtain rose and the hum of the audience subsided. All eyes then focused upon one of the most fantastic sets ever constructed on the Frankfort High stage. The set being the home of Martha and Abbv Brewster played by Cindy Duncan and Cheryl Bradley. The cast also consisted of Becky Carroll, John Doan, Steve Miner, Larry Lash-brook, Butch Roettger, Tom Reppert, Dennis Royalty, Andv Mitchell, Fred Bobbins, Mike McMurtrey, Bruce Pitman, and Denny Wainscott. “Oh No Not Another One!!” cried Mortimer Brewster as he learns of his sweet aunts’ morbid charities in “Arsenic and Old Lace”, this year’s hilarious Senior Class Play. The audience’s eyes were filled with tears of laughter as the cast of fourteen talented seniors excellently performed their parts. And certainly the splendid work and precision of the crews backstage aided immensely to the show. Martin Henderson with the assistance of Patty Work was largely responsible for the play’s success. Butch, Fred, Mike, Bruce, Larry, Dennis, Andy, John, Steve, Denny, Tom, George; seated, Cheryl, Cindy, Becky. 28

The Big Broadcast of 1907 took on a new look under the direction of Mr. Aden K. Long, with the student directors Keitha Baker and Tom Sharp. A cast of 125 students took part in the gay, colorful variety show whose theme and acts clearly indicated “It’s a Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod World”. M.C. Conrad Howe used wit and skill in announcing the acts and keeping the audience in laughter. The show got off to a lively start with twenty Madrigal Singers piling out of a Volkswagen inviting the audience to “Enjoy Yourself”. Following the Madrigal the show kept a livelv pace with highlights including a solo “Exactly Like You” by Jo Ellen Elliott; a baby elephant walk; “A Secretary is Not a Toy” by a group of lively Sophomores; and a Senior boys’ whistling act which kept the entire audience in stitches. After hearing the choir sing songs from “Tile Sound of Music” everyone agreed that the 1967 Big Broadcast was one of the best shows yet. It's A Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod World” Vicki DeRosa and Junior Girls. Sophomore Secretaries. 27

Becky Carroll gets to know the people of Siam. The King and I Anna, the English school teacher who has come to Siam to teach the King’s children, sings “Getting to Know You” to part of His Majesty’s seventy-six children and many wives in Roger’s and Hammerstein’s “The King and I”. Frankfort Senior High School presented its third musical in the form of this Broadway favorite with Larry Lashbrook splendidly portraying the strong wonderful King of Siam and Becky Carroll as the beautiful English School teacher. The company was one of the largest in the history of all Frankfort theatrical productions. Mr. Martin Henderson directed the actors and actresses while Miss Carol Ewart and Mr. Aden Long conducted the choir and orchestra, respectfully. Mr. Christopher Schwabe also assisted with the orchestra. This fantastic production will long remain in the hearts of all who participated. “Praise to Buddha.” 29
