LATIN CLUB The Latin Club did much this year to further study and knowledge of Latin beyond the classroom. The programs of several of the regular meetings were built around various Latin topics. At two of the meetings slides of interesting aspects of Europe and Rome were shown by Miss Howes and Mrs. James Maish. The club sponsored dance was held after Christmas this year. The club finished the year with its banquet in the school cafeteria. This year’s theme was “Mount Olympus’’, and the program featured vocalist Miss Karen Wilson, a student teacher from Indiana University. Latin awards were given on underclass awards day. Officers of the club were: Lane Ayres, Consul Prim js; Tom Hinshaw, Consul Secundus; Stephanie Duncan, Scriba; Jim Maish, Quaestor; John Bright and Don Gorman, Janitors. 25 —

DEBATE TEAM Frankfort Senior High School was well represented this year in the field of formal debate. The debate team sponsored by Mr. Martin Henderson, attended conferences at Butler and Purdue. DRAMA CLUB This year the Drama Club, sponsored by Mr. Martin Henderson, produced several rousing pep skits for the pep sessions. Regular meetings of the club were held this year, and the members did a fine job of promoting drama. Officers this year were: Suzanne Goodnight, president: Mark Lyons, vice-president; Jacques Lucas, secretary-treasurer. - 24

FRENCH CLUB The French Club is open to any student who is now taking or has taken at least one year of French. The purpose of the club is to promote interest in the French language, culture, and people. Among other activities this year the club sponsored a dance, decorated for Blue and White Day, and had a hayride. The officers of the French Club were: President, Jim Young; Vice-President, Susie Douglass; Secretary, Skip Lyons; and Treasurer, Keith Lungren. The sponsor was Mrs. Bates. - 26 —
