f i FROM THE NORTH EAST CORNER OF CAMPUS TO THE SOUTH END OF THE GYM FIELD . . . Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime. And departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time. FROM THE OFFICE TO THE AUDITORIUM . . . 168 STEPS Boing! Boing! Boing! Attention Please - - - this familiar phrase is heard daily. FROM THE GRIDIRON TO THE HALLS OF IVY . . . 2890 STEPS Hotdogs . . . popcorn . . . cokes . . . hot coffee . . .candy . . . These are many snacks that turn footsteps to the Ili-Y stand during the football season. I As the noon bell sounds, the quiet classroom becomes a noisy mob of rushing students. Many feet are turned toward our high school cafeteria, where well balanced meals are served. THROUGH THE TUNNEL TO HOWARD HALL . . . 200 STEPS Although the team was young this year, Frankfort’s Fighting Five accomplished much in the way of moral character. The tunnel is a well-k n o w n passageway in Frankfort High School. The students use it in fair or foul weather. It is one of the symbols of the school. FOOTSTEPS BEHIND THE SCENES Our custodians and cooks play an important role in the lives of the students of F.H.S. The Sunshine Christmas party always serves as a source of surprise and delight to the preschool age children as Santa Claus passes out the presents. Speaking of footprints, take a look at some of the molds that have made footprints around our ivy halls. From 4%’s to 13s-------Ah! the patter of little feet ? ? ? well feet, anyway! PEOPLE As our footsteps move toward the public library, we see the superintendent of the city schools, Mr, Sam Woodruff. He has done an excellent job of maintaining coordination throughout the entire school system this year. Administration Although the footsteps of Mr. Howard Crouse have been directed to another school, he has set an excellent example for us to follow throughout the 1955-56 school year. We shall always remember his friendly smile and quiet manner. The members of the school board: Claude Maxson, Russell Kelly, President Orville Gunyon, and Sam Woodruff. These men are responsible for the outstanding job that has been done in conducting the affairs of the city schools. Here are some well-known people of F.H.S. - - - Assistant Principal, Wayne Gregg; Dean of Boys, Raymond Roh-rabaugh; Attendance Officer, Dale Shanks; Dean of Girls, Sarah Boulware. They are of great help and assistance in helping to work out our many problems. Row J—Ayers, Robert; Baldwin, James; Barnett, Harold. Row 2—Beecher, Wilbur; Belcher, Carl; Bond, Evelyn. Although the foosteps of Mr. Jim Davis and Mr. Coy Wood are no longer heard in the halls of F. H. S., we shall always remember their years of service to our school. Seniors The Class of 1956 left their footprints through the fleeting years. Their early years as freshmen were confusing — the biology field trips, the dances, the basketball games. The sophomores began to prove the mettle of their class as they took part in Student Council and club work. As juniors they visited the General Assembly, sponsored their prom, “Beyond the Rainbow,” and got their brown and white sweaters. Most of the seniors can hardly remember the blurred events of their final year as the days mshed by. The last days neared swiftly too soon for some, not soon enough for others. The Senior Class was lead this year by Jim Bricker, Vice-President; Dave Pannell, Treasurer; Dave Stampe, Secretary; and Bob Clark, President. Adler, Larry—Liberal Arts— Math. Foreign Correspondence.
