This deceptive halfback was the team's ground gainer and scorer and will e sore y missed next year. I WINSTON ROGERS T JUETT ROEMELE Playing his third year as quarter- back Jet handled the team with the finesse of a professional. Jett's deceptive ball handlin paved the way for many F. H. S. taflies. In a crucial moment of the Ver- sailles game Jett threw a perfect N pass for a T.D. 1 1 if PAUI5 MCDANIEL f f Win y's dis la o i htin s irit and his rugged, dgrfensivge plagy the center of the line was a. reat asset to the Panthers' C. K. championship season. His a. gressive blocks and heads up play wilq be rnissed next year. JIMMY BRANDON All State Honorable Mention Jimmy's aggressive blocking and excellent defensive play won him All State Honorable Mention. Teamed with McDaniel, he made the middle of the F.H. S. line a hard place for opposing teams to gain yardage.

Eddie's great defensive work teamed with his talented toe and great gunning ' L ability earned him the Most Valu- able Player award. Eddie kicked ,l the game-winning field goal against Georgetown. A VAN JENKINS All State Honorable Mention Tackle Van, playing his first year as tackle after lettering Z years at end gave the Panther line just what it needed. Van was great on defense and a sterling blocker on offense. Coach Leathers was heard to say, We'd have never won the C. K. C. if Van hadn't been playing tackle. Co- Captains 1954 1 SHERLEY CLARK CLARENCE WOOLUMS End Tackle Sherley was one of the main reasons Red, earning his third Varsity the Panthers had on.l 19 points scored letter, teamed with Sherley Clark against them. A deacili tackler, Sher- and Paul McDaniel, made his side of ley smeared opposing acks behind the the line almost impregnable. Red's line many times. Although the small- est man on the starting team Jimmy proved invalu- able to the team. xi ll ALLEN PREWITT Big Al, playing defensive end and offensive center, was a source of inspiration to all. His sure snaps for punts and passes and his crack defensive work on the flanks will be greatly missed next year. Quince, lettering his first year showed plenty of spirit and hustle Pla ing offensive end and defensive hal back, he was equally ade t at both. Next year's team is u or tunate not to have this flankman back to anchor his end of the line HUGH GOINS Hugh a senior broke his arm in the third game of the year He did not return until the last game His loss was greatly felt by the F H S forward wall CLARK RAPIER Clark, one of the Panthers' most dependable replacements, lettered as a back last year and turned in some sterling performances this year in the line. u
