F.C.H.S. on the go! taking pride in academic work . . . Julie McClerren analyzes a formal proof in geometry. Some sage once remarked, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it.” To the uninitiated, the methods of study by a teenager may seem a little strange. The solution to a weighty trig problem may be sandwiched between teen-age gossip with a classmate on the other end o{ a telephone —and a soda may be needed to calm the nerves after telling Joe, the local lughead, how to spell. No one is surpised the next morning when the brain feels like one of the twisted pretzels consumed the night before, and yet the convolutions somehow manage to straighten out in time and come out with the correct equation for the formation of ammonia in Mr. Grosco’s science class. The requirements are there and must be met in the manner of a typical FCHS student—a step from tomorrow involved in today, they study Poe’s “The Raven,” and listen to KXOK’s “Sing-along Survey,” and “Johnny Rabbit Show.” Senior Dick Cox lightens the burden of evening studies with a refreshing bottle of soda.
