Within an Institution as large as this, we can readily imagine a wide variety of student characteristics. True, in a certain sense, is the fact that one school is a big Melting Pot . From all of the surrounding schools come the girls and boys who wish to further their learning; girls and boys—all doing their best to get an education for the betterment of their country, their county, and themselves. Our democracy was built on the policy of freedom to all— regardless of his race, class, or creed. Our institution follows the same principle. Be we Scotch or Irish, Catholic or Protestant, rich or poor; we all have the chance of Melting our abilities into this school and casting ourselves into alloys of better physical, mental, and moral standing.
