PHYSICAL FITNESS STRESSED Although conducted by a new teacher, Arthur Pelzer, the boys' physical educa- tion classes experienced little change in their athletic activities. However, they quickly learned that after a period of in- struction in a sport they would be given written and skill tests to examine their knowledge and ability in that particular activity. Mrs. Sharon Barrett led the girls as they attempted to keep their bodies fit and trim by repeating special exercises. Through the course of the school year, her students enioyed such events as vol- leyball, bombard, track and field, free exercise, and tumbling. High on the list of popular activities for both boys and girls was folk dancing. This experience gave the mixed group an op- portunity to mingle and to demonstrate their dancing abilities. Perfect balance is displayed as Nancy Voorheis and Kathy Krum- nauer demonstrate the back angel for Mrs. Sharon Barrett, physical education instructor. As Director Arthur Pelzer Iback to cameral checks, a group of students urge their favorite wrestler on to victory. The performers are lefty Rick Monk, senior, and Ed Dahlman, iunior.
