The scholarship that we develop now as students must be firm enough to serve as the basic foundation of our adult lives. We shall later rely upon this knowledge in order to better under- stand the world around us. It is our responsibility to take full advantage of the present opportunities to learn, and we must gain all the knowledge which is in our power to attain to meet the challenge of tomorrow. For conscientious students, a place can always be found for study.

We, as devoted students, have many oppor- tunities to acquire the certain distinguished quality of leadership. It is equally important for us to be good followers as well as good leaders. As we assume our positions as re- spected students of our school, it is in prepar- ation to later accept the leadership of Tomorrow's world, for it is dependent upon us as its future leaders. Mayor Dusch of Virginia Beach spoke to our Inter - Club-Council this summer on service to the city; Mr. Carroll and Mr. Dent also spoke on service to the school. An integral part of our pep rallies, the band, under the direction of Mr. Ackels, ignites school spirit.
