Burdette, K. Har- in SPANISH CLUBS The two Spanish clubs, under the guidance of Miss Bussard, had a successful and interesting year. The Spanish II Club was named Los Espanoles Futures and adopted Que sera, serai' as its motto. Officers of the club were Robert Iaccaud, president, Mary Hilborn, vice president, Norma Osborn, secre- tary-treasurer, and Nancy Slagle, social chairman. Spanish I members chose Los Amigos Espanolesn as the name for their club. The oHicers were Patsy Arthur, president, Darlene Winship, vice-president, Susan Clark, secretary-treasurer, and Marcia Reed, social chairman. Downie, I. Reed, H. Hearn, S. Catton, S. Borland, I. Barris The French Clubs are made up of the pupils in French I and French II classes. Learning more about t.he life, customs, and language of the French are the aims of the clubs. The biggest project for these organizations was the Mardi Gras, held in the gymnasium on April 18. It was a miniature of the New Orleans festival, and was called Fairy Tales and Fantasy Landf' In the club meetings, the members took imaginary trips to France through the use of slides and movies. The students celebrated many French holidays and practiced various French customs. This year's oliicers in French II were Ann johnson, president, Gwen Opel, vice-president, Pat Glaze, secretary-treasurer, and Melinda Skatz, social chairman. In French I there were two clubs. The period III oiiicers were Iack Arnold, president, Lois Axline, vice-president, Phyliss Rayburn, secretary-treasurer, and Gene Bauman, social chairman. Period IV oiiicers were Charlene Ellis, president, Beverly Barton, vice-president, Carolyn Lowry, secretary-treasurer, and Lynne Bobula, social chairman. Miss Bussard advised both clubs. Zimmerman, I. Zimmerman, E. Counts, D. Oberle INDUSTRIAL ARTS The Industrial Arts Club is an organization which gives its members a chance to further their interest in the' various industrial skills. The projects carried out by the club included the making of desk sets, end tables, and cedar chests. This year, the club initiated a plan for a continual display of the projects at the Delaware County Bank. . . The oilicers were jim Swope, president, Paul Grant, vice-president, David Corwin, secretary, and Larry Lewis, treasurer. Mr. Bowman was the advisor. SCIENCE CLUB The Science Club, under the supervision of Mr. Slasor, was started at the beginning of the year to give the students an opportunity to further their scientific interests. Peter Lazdins, president, Sandra Bayliff, secretary, and David O,Keefe, treasurer, led the group to a very successful year. With the money they raised, the students paid for the buses which took exhibitors and their projects to the Science Fairs. The most exciting adventure undertaken by the group was a spring trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
