The first and second year Latin clubs who called themselves the Olympiads, held, their meetings this year on the last school day of each month. Crowning their list of big events was the- spring banquet. Here, the members, garbed in the traditional tunics and stolas and enjoyed a meal as the Romans might have centuries ago. These costumes were made by the members during class periods. Other gala events were the state J.C.L. convention at Ohio State University on April l3, the Christ- mas gift exchange, and the showing of slides by Mrs. Crowl. The Latin ll class officers were Mary Judy Teele and David Landsittel, presidents, Janice Ramey and Linda Carlisle, vice-presidents, and Judy Strimer and Margaret Vance, secretaries, and Nancy Byerly and Bill Roberts, treasurers. - The Latin I class officers were Robert Patrick and Lois Axline, presidents, 'Jim Hilborn and Tom Rybolt, vice-presidents, Linda Schaffner and Judy Green, secretaries, and Judy Moore and Harriett Hearn, treasurers. Bayliff. i l Les Treize Heureux, the Lucky Thirteen, was the name of the first year French club. Their pre- siding officers were: Frances Alter, president, Marcia Reed, vice-president, Linda Dickey, secretary, and Shirley Stiles, social chairman. A few of the items on the list of events were the French breakfast in December, the King's Day party in January, a Valentines party in February, and a Pen Pal program in May. The second year French club took the name Les Meilleurs , translated as, The Best . The officers they elected were Bob Jaccaud, president, Liz Dixon, vice-president, Linda Longwell, secretary-treasurer, and Dick Crose, social chairman. This club also held a breakfast and Pen Pal program. Fay Vogle, who spent a year abroad, spoke to the club during one of their programs. Together with the Spanish clubs, the French Clubs held the biannual Mardi Gras. This costume party was held in March.
