As isthe custom, the faculty entertained the new members at a luncheon at Bun's Restaurant. ln T952 a new policy was adopted by the faculty for the election of members. ln order to take the voting out of the realm of the subjective, ci rating system was devised. The upper third of the graduating clbss-those who are eligible for National Honor Society-was rated on the basis of the qualifications mentioned above. The students were then ranked from one to thirty-five in order of their rating, and these scores were added together to get the student's standing in these qualifications. J The National Honor Society originated in l92l, and to Edward Rynearson, a graduate of Ohio VVesleyan University, goes much of the credit for the founding of the society. Members of the National Hbnor Society Committee were: Mrs. Patingale, Mr. Graham, Miss Whitted, and Mr. Moist. They were assisted by Mrs. Homer Wyss.
