The French Cluh, which is composed of two different classes, met the second and xventh per' iods. The officers of the period two cluh were president, Fred Garrahrantz vice president. Ruth Robinson: secretaryftreasurer. Nancy Via: social chairman. Lloyd Gardner, The name of this cluh was Les Veilleurs which means the Hclockwatcli' ers, and their motto was N'essaye: pas de mollf rir- mais moure: en essayantu which means Don't try dying hut die trying, The program of the year consisted of a Christmas Party in Decemf her: A Kings Day Banquet in -Ianuaryg a Valenf tine's party. each memher making a Valentine written in French. in Fehruary: a program ahout the Mardi Gras in March: games in April: and skits in May. The period seven class which was called L'elite. The Choice, had as its motto Nous vivous pour notre nom, meaning We live for our name. The officers were president. Allan Johnson1 vice president. John Melvin: secretary' treasurer. Barhara Thatcher: and social chairman. Bill Poling. They had the same program for the year as period two. except that in Novemher. Horst Launan spoke on the French school sys' tem, in April they had a treasure hunt. and in lvfay they had games.
