Homeward Bound by Kathy Lee On the evening of October 10, 1983, Kel- logg held its Homecoming Royalty Corona- tion to the appropriate theme Homeward Bound . The candidates for Homecoming Queen were: Jodi Armstrong, Julie Colette, Karen Graf, Kara Wallin, and Jill De- Zurik. King candidates were: Doug Dono- van, Mike Evgen, Pat Foley, Todd Hart- man, and Mark Schaber. The Master and Mistress of Ceremonies were Tom Chris- tensen and Karen Boyer. Kellogg's Concert Choir started off the ceremony by singing Sentimental Journey . Following com- ments from Mr. Bruce Hartman, Doreen Ariola and Kathy Lee sang the theme song Homeward Bound . Doreen also sang Through the Years after we heard from our principal, Mr. Gaul. Gene Ford and t,,V AL ' , Tracey Tierney, the 1982 Homecoming King and Queen, said a few words of en- couragement to the candidates. Then final- ly -the moment all were waiting for. Tra- cey Tiemey crowned King Mike Evgen, who in turn crowned Queen Julie Colette. After the ceremony all were invited to the cafete- ria for a reception in the candidates honor. The 1983 Courtof Honor consisted of: Joe Beran and Diana Tischler Dave Drage and Mary Morgan Jed Johnson and Julie Toogood Dave Lovick and Julie Schmidt Pat Nolan and Cathee Cahill Gene Ford and Tracey Tierney 1982 Homecoming King and Queen. 1983 Queen Julie Colette and King Mike Evgen. Jed Johnson and Ryan Nelson getting into the act, as usual Nancy Mohr waiting for locker inspection Homecoming Week by Nancy Whitmer Our homecoming week started off on Monday, October 10, with skits put on by the homecoming King and Queen candidates. All of the hours of preparation were evident in the quality of the skits. They were very entertaining. The skits ranged from the Twilight Zone to the Super- friends . There were embarrassing moments at which the students filled the gym with laughter. The skits gave everyone some time to relax from first hour classes. The rest of the week was for the students to show their school spirit. Different days were des- ignated for the students to dress up. It was as follows . . . Monday - Grub Day Tuesday - Hats 8: Shades Day Wednesday - Toga Day Thursday - Sweats 8: Headbands Day Friday - Black 84 Gold Day Friday the Senior girls challenged the Junior girls to a game of flag football. fOtherwise known as Powder Puff Footballj The Senior girls over- came the Junior girls 6-0. The crowd was enter- tained by Dan Addington and Todd Hartman announcing in the Press Box. 6 Jon Halverson getting ready for some Home- coming activities. The football game has all of Joe Thunhorst's attention. Bob Milne enjoying good fall weather.
