Chess Club ,Maf- Pgit Foley .lill l l2lllSOl'l The Kellogg Chess Team, coached by Mr. Frank McCray, has been in existence since 1981. This years members included Raphael Cung, captain, Eric Huang, Sang Kim, Urosh Piletich, Peter Radcliffe, Dave Radcliffe and Brian Wiekel. The team competed in the Twin Cities High School Chess League. During the 82-83 season, the team went to the State Chess Tournament for the first time. Success has continued this year. The Chess Team helped to promote decision making and logical thinking. Kellogg Chess Team members Urosh Piletich and Peter Radcliffe Boys' and Girls' State Boys' and Girls' State takes place every year under the direction of the American Legion. Every high school in the state sent one boy and one girl to represent their school at the confer- ence held during the summer. The students run an entire political campaign from city to state level. The purpose was to give promising young people an experience in politics. 165
