Chorus At the begunnung of the school term all nunth and tenth graders who wushed to partucupate un the chorus gathered together to try ut out under the durectuon of Bro Hertzler Sunce our furst gatherung we have been tryung tg umprove our sungung not for our own honor but to glorufy and to prause o Because musuc peruod comes only twuce a week chorus members look eagerly forward to the days on whuch ut occurs When the peruod us here at last we gather our hymn books and sheets and proceed to practuce We enjoydthe fellowshup un sungung and feel God s presence wuth us un our practuce peruo s Our furst unvutatuon to sung came from Eastern Mennonute College when they asked us to present a 'lypucal Day at F M S Followung our sungung at the Chrustmas program the requests to sung at Lune Lexungton Perkasue Rockhull Souderton Luterary and Sprung Mount followed rn quuck successuon We also partucupated un the Youth meetung at Towamencun and durung the Chrustmas season we went carolung un Allentown We are glad for thus opportunuty to wutness for Chrust We want to serve Hum not only un song but through other channels also so that we may always be shunung lughts for Hum CH RISTMAS PROGRAM Our Chrustmas program was an event long looked forward to and many happy hours were spent un decoratung the rooms and learnung parts for the program un whuch all the upper grades partucupated At last the nught crrruved The chorus gave musucal selectuons and a gurls chorus from seventh and eughth grades also sang A Chrustmas play Nunth and tenth graders showed us the true meanung of Chrustmas un a skut The Kung Who Abolushed Chrustmas On closung the tenth grade gurls recrted a poem whuch they had learned un Lrterature Class OUR TRIP TO EASTERN MENNONITE COLLEGE One event whuch wull be remembered by all us our trup to the Eastern Mennonute College and the many enjoyable moments we spent there We were excuted and honored when the unvutatuon came askung us to present a program at the Teachers lnstutute held there on Thanksguvung weekend There was also much work and plannung for the teachers to prepare a pro gram for we were to present A Typucal Day at F M S Funally the day arruved and by 5 30 a m Saturday mornung sux cars of eager pupuls and chaperones were ready to start After the usual last mrnute hurryung we were off before daybreak bound for Vurgunua The tume passed rapudly as we admured the beauty of the countrysude and all too soon we had arruved at Endless Caverns Here we were umpressed by the magnufucence and splendor of God s creatuon as we vlewed the natural formatuons of rock We arruved at the Eastern Mennonute College safely and had tume for a last munute rehearsal before the program The program presented that evenung ullustrated the subjects studued un a day at Franconua Mennonrte School The courses were taught by the varuous teachers The subjects consusted of Buble Scuence Arts and Crafts Englush l and ll and Musuc class un whuch the chorus sang several selectuons After the program we gathered at the planetaruum where Bro M T Brackbull showed us many new wonders On Sunday afternoon we started homeward and were all blessed by a safe return 3 ' ' ' - 11 f ll , . .
