Club Beta Sports Comments he Franoiaco Owls, under the teaching and ooaohing of Faul Hardesty has of its most successful seasons The season's record for regularly—- games was sixteen wins and three losses. They also won the Holiday for the seoond consecutive year In their second game of the section- y they played a marvelous gams but lost by a slim margin of four to the seotional oh snaps, the Ft. Branch Twigs. During the season the tod white Owls tallied 1168 points while their opponents were gamering for a per game average of 61.6 against U.6. They were recognised by r opponents as a very aggressive ball team, ha lattermsn who will be returning next year are Ronald Wirth, Joe Woods Orson, Donald McEllhlney, Bob Meier, Carmen Stapleton and Jerry Green, ird Meier, the older of the Meier brothers, although not a senior played last year in high sohool competition. Four members of this years squad were seniors. They were Dennis Wirth, forth Ross, Wends1 Goooh and Russell Broshears. OTIS WIRTH Dennis, an outstanding player has set an impressive record for our sohool ui also a record for Gibson County. In his four years as a member of the tee , he eoored a total of I860 points, a reoord of which he should justly be jroud. His achievement for Francisco High Sohool and Gibson County will long he reaembered by those who follow the game of basketball. ILLSWORTH ROSS Ellsworth, another senior, has done a wonderful Job of playing this year He was an excellent pivot man with a dangerous right hook shot. He was a tsluable player and his fine mental attitude was an asset to the team. HSKDEL GOOCH Wendel, also playing his last year for the Owls, was one of the best mor- lie boosters of the squad. Wendel has played for three years and was an ex- cellent team man. SUSSELL BROSHEARS Russell, a guard, ends his basketball playing this year. He has been on the varsity ten for three years and was a hard worker, and this fine offen- ilve guard will surely be missed next year. latua Center Green 1®' Guard •Hich Center Bonnie Guard Maud in' Guard Shears Guard second team Pat ott- Sf£ ZZJttSSSZr ' ” « . ‘ Crltchfl.ld.
