Sfudenl Governmenf plays a vifal role af Parlcer and is one of fhe school's mosf valuable insfifufions. ln Sfudenf Governmenf, Parlcerifes gain experience in handlinq fheir own affairs and, in so doing, learn fhe fundamenfals of good cifizenship. This year, all fhe various Sfuclenf Governmenf officers, fheir commiffees, and fhe Assembly as a whole, have done a parficularly fine iob. Among fhe commiffees, fhe Honor and Social Commiffees have funcfioned especially well. Thanlrs fo fhe Honor Commiffee, in ifs firsf full year, fhe Honor Sysfem has proved exfremely success- ful. The Social Commiffee, fhis year, enriched fhe school calendar wilh four fine dances and a number of swell parfies. The assembly, among ifs many acfions, senf a profesf fo fhe Chicago Mofor Coach Co., prohibifed co-heads for mosf commif- fees, and placed fhe Forum under fhe Dramafic Associafion. ln general, Sfudenf Governmenf fhis year has funcfioned effici- enfly and mosf successfullyg benefifing fhe enfire high school. This year, we have sfudied some of fhe rules of parliamenfary procedure, and also fried fo solve some of ihe problems arising in fhe lower school. Abouf once every monfh full assembly is held. I+ is prinTed every monTh, FirsT drawings and sTories are conTribuTed. Then a sTencil is cuT by puTTing a picTure or sTory on Top of The mimeoscope and The sTencil over iT. A light is Turned on under The paper and Then you can see The picTure. The person who cuTs The sTencil Takes a sTylus and Traces over The original lines. Then he puTs The sTencil on The roller oT1'he prinTing machine. When all The copies are prinTed, a group sTaples The ParkeriTe TogeTher. Then iT is ready To be sold.
