In the opening assembly held in this new magnificent educational structure, I set forth many challenges for all students. One of the more important was to capitalize on the time spent in high school. This can be done only by making an effort to obtain factual understanding-understanding obtained through the sieve of knowl- edge which leaks from facts gained from all of the students' various academic and non-academic courses. Yet, this is not sufficient, nor self sustaining, for knowledge per se is nothing. More important, is the application of such knowledge for the betterment of self and all of mankind. Therefore, as this year closes, seek not an end with graduation, but continue to search for the great end of life, which, according to Technical Education, is not knowledge, but action. All knowledge gained throughout the years is lost and mean- ingless, unless it is constantly and realistically applied. Credits, honors, diplomas and the like, many times go by the wayside because action is not applied to latent knowledge. ln conclusion, first get to know, then act. If you do not know, start there and follow your knowledge with action so that all may be better served. Sincerely, Henry J. Kanowicz .
