Among others, we remember the Young Ras- caIs concert as being a big success. Besides continuing the Student of the Month, the G.O. instituted the Student ot the Week, recog- nizing outstanding student achievement. The G,O. also sold 57,000 worth of candy to build a school in an underdeveloped nation chosen by the Peace Corps. HISTORY DEPARTMENT The aim of the History Department has been to provide students with an historical basis in understanding current social, economic, and political problems. Towards this end, the department ottered required courses in World Geography, World History, American History, and Economics, as well as an elective in Problems ot American Democracy. The department again offered the Advanced Placement American History Course, for the more ambitious student. Thus, the knowledge and skills gained by students through the tacilities of the History Department will enable him to better assume his place in society as a mature and responsible citizen. SEATED R.
