Special Spirit The Cross Country team had a special team spirit which made it easy to accomplish many goals, stated Coach Dan Durbin. The boy's team captured the City Cross County title. The following individuals made the All-City team: Rodney Compton, Scott Hayes, Bobby Swallows, And Kim Overfield, Making the All-SIAC team were Compton, Hayes, and Overfield. Perhaps the biggest accomplishment of the year was that both the girl's and boy's team qualified for semi-state together. Reitz was the only Southwestern Indiana team to qualify both teams. When the semi-state meet was over, only one Reitz runner was going to State. Seniro Scott Hayes competed and placed fiftieth in the State Cross Country Meet in Indianaoplis.
