Summer Camp Pays Off . . . Darrin Carnahan spent many hours in the darkroom developing photographs for the yearbook and the newspaper. The compputer made printing the newspaper easier, quicker, and more fun. Pictured are Marcie Jessie and Dirk Julian. Mg Mr. Aurand . . . Mr. Aurand . . . MR. AUR- AND!!! I can't find the cheerleaders' layout . Has anyone seen the story about the teacher strike? Where's Shae and Angie? Across the Hall! Do you need me to go downtown and pick up the copy? Kris, there's a letter in the mirror mail box!! The next deadline is Thursday. Do you have your copy done? I need to go interview Mr. Higgs, Can I have the hall pass? Mr. Aurand, I found the cheer- leader layout! Just one minute inside room 204 during a journalism class brings this entire conversations to life, and it continues for the entire class period. Deadlines, features, news, copy, pictures, and layouts are words the jour- nalism staffs - both the newspaper, and the yearbook have come to know quite well. Under the guidance of Mr. Gene Aurand, the staffs have undergone many changes. Not only have they experienced the pressures, but also the fun of being a staff member. The newspaper - The Reitz Mirror e was led by Editor Kris- ten Reid, and produced papers with a new look, and a new attitude learned at a summer camp in Bloomington. A mirror mailbox for students was placed outside room 204, and ads were sold to students at Christmas and Valentines Day, all giving students a chance to voice their opin- ions and thoughts. Editors Shae Travis and Angie VanZant di- rected the REFLECTIONS staff in creating the yearbook. After teaching the staff what they learned during the summer at a yearbook work- shop, the editors let the staff go to work. After work was done e everyone escaped across the Hall to the pasteup room for practical jokes and laughter e and to let off a little of the pressure. But sooner or later, it was time to get busy again . . . Where's your copy? Oh Mr. Aur- and, I did it yesterday . . . I think . . .
