Standards Set The 1985 Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. Art Adye, Drum Majors Scott Bogard and Patti Kelley, proved formidable. Twenty-four seniors, though missing state competition by 1.7 points, will leave Reitz knowing they helped set a great standard that no other Evansville band has ever reached. This years band gained thirty more mem- bers and five higher placings in State ranking. Re- garding these changes Mr. Adye said, Size is not determining factor by which you are judged, but it never hurts. Although much of the band will gra- duate this year, thirty more incoming freshmen are expected to join next year. Not to be forgotten is the Reitz Orchestra. The 12 seniors in that group, along with Mr. Adye, entered state fiinals in April, after months of practicing. Forty-one Reitz students, the highest number from Evansville this year, are members of the All-City Band andTor orchestra. Six of these students made the All-State group. The instrumental talent of Reitz is not going to be silenced . . . they're on the way to the top.
