Jacky Westphal is trying to better her grade in Speech Class as her fellow class- This year the gov- ernment classes have attempted to learn more about the Unites States and how it functions from within. It is of great importance today to have this understanding be - cause we are all part of the biggest political, economic, and military power ever known to man. We try to recognize the aspects that have given this country greatness, and at the same time point out the problems that go with it. The class has come to the conclusion that while the future seems unsure, the fate of the world can easily depend on the future leadership of our country, and our future leadership depends on how we are able to educate ourselves in order to solve our ever- growing problems. mates look on. Typing Class has at least four diligent students. A good tasting pencil eraser helps Chuck to get typing done.

Is The Various things occur in the afternoon at F. H.S. Some are in P.E. running their legs off, while others are quietly sitting in study hall trying to concen- trate on their studies. Every once in a while, there is someone who gets sent to the princi- pal's office. When this happens, look out--Mr. Canary has a holey paddle that he knows how to use. Afternoon life at F.H.S. is not always filled with studying. Fun and laughter is mixed in with the studying, not only by the students, but by the teachers also. It looks like Mr. Canary just got through using that holey paddle of his on Ronnie Osbum. 14
