A . 1966 Zhe Jrandllian Published by the Annual Staff FRANCESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Francesville, Indiana The teachers of the Francesville School have varied backgrounds in the field of educa- tion. They have had training in many of the institutions of Indiana and also from other states. It is our hope that the students and people of the community recognize and treat us as you would like to be treated. Do not exalt us for we do not feel exalted. The faculty's only concern should be for the welfare of the students, and that the end product should be a useful citizen in a very complex and demanding society. Twelve years seems like a long time. . . until it has passed. These twelve years have been the trial and error years . . . the formative years. Personalities have been molded, beliefs con- ceived, failures acknowledged, yet overcome, and foundations for the future laid. Seniors were dismissed from school to sell annual ads. Tempers flared at the Senior Faculty game. 8 Seniors 9 We the dedicate our class of 1966 the following to former classmate and President IN Memory OF Zom Kicks Born August 10, 1948 and died June 18, 1964 God hath not promised--- Skies always blue. On first thought it seems strange that the day we lay down forever our high school work and sever many of our high school associations should be designated as com- mencement. Tnis afternoon, having successfully completed the courses assigned to us, we feel that we are now a small part of the foundation of the state of Indiana. 23 An exciting school year is over but the under- classmen's thoughts are focused on the years ahead--especially the exciting and incomparable Senior year. The Juniors' events included the con- cession stand, class play, and the Junior-Senior Prom. The Sophomore year is the beginning of an exciting and a full time of life. Crowning events of the Sophomore year are the ordering of class rings and the receiving of their class sweaters. Who's Lee trying to kid? Come on girls--let's wake up! The other six losses were not determined until the last few minutes of play. This is the mark of a fine team and we are sure that they will help develop a fine varsity unit next season. Cooperation, teamwork, and constructive thinking are learned as members of clubs and in planning programs and special events. These organizations bring students a step forward in developing leadership and initia- tive by working on club projects. A member must have a B grade average and is evalu- ated on his Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. Their pro- gram this year included trips to the Purdue Christmas Convocation and the stage show of Gypsy at Purdue's Loeb Playhouse. Together with the FTA they sponsored a fish fry to earn money for a scholarship awarded to a senior member at the end of the school year. The club has organized a tutoring ser- vice available to students who need assistance. The 1965-66 officers are Don Weaver, President; Ron Tillet, Vice-President; Barbara Federer, Sec- retary; and Vicky Bucher, Treasurer. In October new members were formally initiated into NHS.
