TO THE GRADUATES You graduates of the Class of 1964 are going forth from Fram- ingham in the year when the college celebrates its one hundred twenty fifth anniversary. She has proffered to you the advantages of a college steeped in tradition and rich in history. Yet the college has always shown a willingness and an eagerness to change and grow to meet the needs of an increasingly complex society. We on the Hill are proud to have you go forth in this sig- nificant year as emissaries of Framingham. During your student days here and throughout the many changes that have taken place since you first entered, we have constantly sought to help you develop a zeal for learning and a high sense of values. We are confident that you will continue to seek learning and to cherish high values throughout the future, bringing credit to yourself and to your college. Mrs. McCarthy and'I wish you the fullest happiness, success and blessings wherever the path of the future may lead you. May that path bring you back often to your Alma Mater. Dr. D. Justin McCarthy President 9

Miss A. Carolla Haglund Dean of Women 0 As you peruse your yearbook can you recall the momentous events in your passage from one stage of development to another during these past four years? Some of these events of transition were concerned with the physical expansion of the collegeg others with the ever-widening social horizon of a college womang an- other broader and deeper area of change may well have been one of increasing intellectual curiosity. Be- cause of these years you can say with Byron, I am not now, that which I have been. One of the fundamental concepts in history is that of the inevitability of change. We hope that your brief stay here has helped you in developing an awareness and acceptance of this concept for use now and in the years ahead as students, teachers, alumnae, and citi- zens Q '8
