Pre-algebra prepared some for algebra which, along with geometry, ex- plored the complexities of numbers; review courses refreshed memo- ries, and advanced courses attacked the deepest analytical thought. Mr. DiVittorio offered an after school computer course using the electronic brains at Computer Control Com- pany in Framingha ' m. Mathematics, through new methods and even field trips, was never so much like rolling off a logarithm. cience Mr. Clinton Mr. Gaucher . . . Tragedy also occurred; the skeleton in B-5 lost half a leg and an arm, many test tubes met their maker, and no physics student proved the Unified Field Theorem. At times the odor of sharks in biology laboratory threatened indiges- tion. But students learned principles, the scientific method, and, a lucky few, the Inverse Square Law. And what else is there to know? Weather-watching, dis- secting of earthworms, producing strange chem- ical odors, and tinkering with light: these activi- ties were all part of the science department. Dr. John Meegan coordinat- ed the teaching of gen- eral science, earth sci- ence, biology, chemistry, and physics classes. Not only study, but labora- tories, practical work, and, for biologists, tramps through nature were part of education. Mr. Jachowicz Mr. O ' Donnell Mr. Hester Mr. Tisde

Mr. Hatch, Department Head Mrs. DeCristoforo Mr. Kropp business Mrs. MacDonald Mr. Trevani Miss Stanton Happiness in the Business Department includes 72 manual typewriters, 36 electric typewriters, 5 kinds of 1 0-key printing calculators, rotary calculators, duplicators, copying machines — plus teachers that can tell them apart. The demand for typing skill has grown so fast that we have 300 students enrolled in typing classes, learning that asdf jkl; without looking is their immediate goal in life. Audio-visual aids in abundance are constantly in action, from records to overhead projectors to EDL controlled readers, even to Mr. Hatch ' s screwdriver and bent coat hanger for repairs. New this year is the typing pool for school activities under Mrs. Peckham. Business as usual is plainly the order of the day. Mrs. Peckham Mr. Murphy Miss McDonald 24
