O cac emics C7Icfiui ies Spor s s eniors CTIc uer ise n en is UaBfe a To Mr. John A. Meegan, for his many services, not only to the class of 1963, but to Framingham High School as a whole, and for his kindness and interest in its stu- dents, both in and out of the classroom, this, the 1963 Philomath is dedicated. Jo iJne CPrincipafs Sffiessaye The world of today faces many prob- lems and challenges. It is to you, the Class of 1963 at Framingham High School, and to the other graduation classes throughout the country, that our nation will look for its leadership, direction and accomplishment. During your high school days you have enriched the life of your school and your community. We are proud of your ac- complishments here. It is young people like you who make our schools and communities great. Where you will be ten years from now depends largely upon yourself. There are no short cuts to success. Your future ac- complishments will depend on the degree to which you plan wisely, think carefully, and work diligently. You must strive to establish for your- self the finest possible reputation in mat- ters of character and integrity. The far- reaching effects of these on your future happiness cannot be overemphasized. The faculty, administration, and office staff wish you much happiness in your undertakings. Yass of 1963 CPresi ' c enfs JK In our four seemingly short years here, Framingham High School has probably undergone more changes than in the last twenty. We welcomed a new administra- tion as sophomores, advanced placement courses and IBM programming as juniors, and the National Honor Society as seniors. Although significant, these are not, how- ever, the changes that have most influ- enced our high school days. They are, instead, those which have accompanied our fast-growing town. In September, 1959, we entered Fram- ingham High, a school of sixteen-hundred pupils; we leave it a school of twenty-four hundred. This fifty per cent increase in enrollment has necessitated an annual change in scheduling, and the building of a new high school at Winch Park. Since this school is to be occupied next year, ours will be the last class to graduate from a consolidated Framingham High School. The accomplishments of the members of our class have been outstanding. We thank the administration and the faculty for their counsel and help in our successful undertakings. May the passing years bring each of you luck and happiness. Sincerely, MR. McCONNARTY MRS. ARNOTT MRS. McCONNON Vice Principal 12 Morning Staff Gustocfians Afternoon Staff IS caoemics I 1H. This task has been made difficult by the obvious barrier of a double schedule. Therefore, the organization of two separate councils was necessitated. The activities of both councils were presented to the entire school community with the hope that a unity could be evolved. Mr. Richard Dargan, advisor to the Junior-Senior Council, greatly aided the officers under President Susan Bryant in designing a program to better serve Framingham High School students. The Freshman-Sophomore Student Council, under the leadership of Mr. Zaido and President Tom Cardiner, has given enthusiastic repre- sentation to the sophomore and freshman classes. The contents of the Crier have not, however, been altered. The newspaper still contains school news, editorials, feat- ures, photographs, humor and cartoons which portray Framingham High School students, their activities, their thoughts. Mr. John Whelan, advisor to the Student Crier, the staff members, and the editors, have worked hard together to issue and unusually informative school news- paper. ' That ' s Popovich, no t ! I feel very sad to leave this marvelous country and this wonderful high school. All the new things that I learned here, and all the pleasant moments that I have had make this year one of the greatest of my life. I am sure that I will never forget my experiences and all the friends I have made. I want to tell you thanks for being so nice and giving me all the happiness that I found.
