VERNON BUTLER Senior Class President .ilgs an g FRAMINGHAM SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL ', ,,' 31 FLAGG DRIVE FRAMINGHAM. MASS. 0170! PRINCIPAL RALPH J. MARTIN VICI PRINCIPAL! PETER C. NCCONARTY JOHN F. JOYCE FELLOW MEM ERS OF TH CLASS OF 1965: To be president of the Class of 1965 during our senior year has been a great honor. We have gone through the last four years together, closely involved in the study-and-work routine of high school, yet aware of the many changes taking place in the world around us, As underclassmen we noted the attempts of Pope John XXIII to bring peace and unity throughout the world. Later we cheered to the lofty ideals of John F. Kennedy's Thousand Days and, as juniors, mourned his untimely death. During our senior year we observed the world's tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, who had symbolized the determination of England and the free world to remain strong and independent. All of these men sought to make the world a better place in which to live. We shall try to make their ideals ours. Now we are leaving our halls of learning to go on to what we hope will prove to be bigger and better things. As some of us enroll in schools and colleges, others enter the business world, and still others enlist in the services, we know that wherever we go we will owe our futures, at least in part, to the training we received at Framingham South High School. For most of us it has been a hard but profitable four years, and I know that we will never forget South High or all we learned here. I would like to extend my best wishes to my classmates that they may achieve their ultimate goals in life. Also I would like to thank our faculty members and administration for their help and cooperation in the past four years. Our thanks especially go to Mr. Ralph Martin, our principal, and to Miss Helen Vancavage, our class advisor, for their patient direction and assistance. So to all of you, no farewell is more fitting than To strive is to accomplish. Yours truly, ?Zg4z'b091 Lizalihaff VERNON BUTLER I -Sf Qui
