jess 0 196-4 PRESlDENT'S MESSAGE I am deeply honored to be the first president of a senior class to graduate from Framingham South High School. Due to the rapid growth of the town of Fram- ingham there are two new schools. This separation promises to produce a friendly scholastic and athletic rivalry which could well surpass the Natick-Framingham one. The years l96O-T96-4 have left us with numerous memories which will be with us all our lives. We won't forget the amazing variety of school sessions which marked our four years here. In a sense our class proved that learning is possible under all kinds of conditions. The lessons we learned in the classroom, in extracur- ricular organizations, and in athletics will serve us well in our future. Perhaps the event we will most often connect with our senior year, however, was the tragic assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Fram- ingham South High School reflected the feelings of a grief- stricken world. For weeks life was almost at a stand- still as the world paid tribute to a great human being. The underclassmen of Framingham South High School have a great deal of responsibility to live up to. It is your job to set a precedent for oncoming classes. Re- member that all classes look up to the Senior Class, and the example you set reflects on their behavior in future years. Future seniors should begin early to plan their careers. Work closely with the guidance counselors in mapping your entrance to college, the business world, or the service. In closing l would like to thank my fellow students, our teachers, and Mr. Martin for the pleasant memories and fine education we have received at Framingham South High School. Most of all we are deeply indebted to our class advisor, Mrs. McDuffie, without whose help our successful senior year would not have been possible. 27 ,4 ' 'L - 4 ' r f A . . Ag , w. 15181 go fge PRINCI PAl.'S MESSAGE The Class of 1964 has the distinction of being the first to graduate from Framingham South High School, a very old school with a most distinguished record, formerly known as Framingham High School. This class is also the first to experience normal single-session op- erations after three years of various forms of double sessions. lt is also the first class to lose a large per- centage of its members at the end of the junior year by their transfer to a new and second public high school in this community, the Framingham North High School. Despite the many difficulties and problems experi- enced by the Class of 1964, it has attained high schol- astic standards, established good athletic records and participated successfully in extracurricular activities. We are confident that many more firsts will be attained by the members of the Class of i964 during their life- times. On your graduation day your parents must be proud of the many fine and desirable changes that have taken place in your personality, knowledge, and thinking since entering this school in l96O. lt is our hope that we have made some small con- tribution toward your future success, well-being, and happiness. ln the years to come we expect our pleasure will increase as we learn of your worthy accomplish- ments. You are about to enter a new phase of your life. Whether you enter the world of work immediately or attend an institution of higher learning in preparation for your work, you are about to encounter a need for further changes. More work will be expected of you with less time available for recreational activities. Many will encounter the new experience of being entirely away from home. You must select new, wholesome, and worthwhile friends in a new environment. lt will be necessary to develop self-discipline and self-reliance to a degree never before anticipated. We, your teachers, are confident that you will meet these challenges with determination and success. Live to be a credit to your parents, your school, and your community, and you will be a credit to yourself. Mya 9.
