Baseball The Frackville High Baseball team of 1945, climaxing the very envi- able and reputable coaching career of Charles Dunkleberger at Frackville High, was the winner of the North Schuylkill Baseball League for the second successive year. In taking the league crown the Mountaineers won 12 games while losing but 2 games. Following regular season play Frackville entered the Play-olfs against Hegins Township, winner of the South Schuylkill League, to decide the championship of Schuylkill County. Playing the game at Mahanoy Township Stadium on a muddy diamond Frackville was defeated by Hegins Township by a 1 to 0 score. Performing brillantly in defeat, the Frackville team made the only triple play in the history of baseball at Frack- ville High. Bill Cahill ball hawk centerftelder took the individual batting crown of the team with an average of 416 On the mound Joe Huth with a good fast ball and a sharp breaking curve was the leading hurler Since this was the 1ast Frackvllle High Team to perform under the tutorshlp of Charles Dunkleberger we doff our hats ln appreciation to a job well done by a swell coach te icher and fellow and also to the great baseball team of 45 t Ixl 69 1 ' s , K . .
