1945 THE STORY Our four vears IH retrospect an almost rmpossrble task COi'lbld6f1f1g the many events that were crowded lnto these years But although some thmgs wrll fade, the h1gh spots mrll re mann rn our memorles forever Asrde from the fact that the openlng of school had been delayed by an 1nfant1le paralysls eprdemrc we were just lrke any other freshmen green eager and expectant cont1nually subyect to razzrng by the mrghty sophomores We had fmally become accustomed to hrgh school llfe when rn December wrthout w arnrnff Pearl Harbor vw as attacked by the japanese After that War Bond Drrves, tm can collect1ons and scrap collectnons hastened the school tempo so that June and the end of the term came qulckly Our sophomore year was packed vxlth events a Home Economics course under the dl rectnon of Mrs ean Hall was added to the high school currlculum football was d1scon trnued due to transportatlon dlfhcultles and new unlforms were purchased for the band Durrng an assembly program grven by one of our sophomore sectlons a fire broke out m turned to school the next day Then we vs ere yunlors and entltled to lord If over the underclassmen COHSCIOUS of our new drgnxtv we chose our class ofhcers Mrke Fatula was elected Presrdent M1chael Glba Vice Presldent and oey Stacknavage, Secretary Treasurer Members of our class partrcrpated 1n the plavs presented bv the Leaders Club and the Glee Club We chose our class rrngs and recerved them the day before Chr1stn'as a mov1e and dances were held to obtain money for yearbooks BV that trme une had rolled round agarn Sen1ors ' And scarcely a moment to ourselves, what wxth our varrous act1v1t1es W1th boundless enthuslasm we sold War Bond chances organlzed our yearbook staff, and attended countless class meetlngs In December we held our Chrxstnsas Dance a few weeks later ue chose our felt goods and ln Aprll began our commencement practrces Then came the never to be forgotten Semor Prom and Gradu 1t1on Exercrses to round out the hlphlv successful career of the class of 45 And so wrth thanks to Mr Drumm and the faculty, we bld a fond farewell to F H S and allth1t1t has meant to us t24l L . a S. .k 3 L ,. . . .
