I P l CLASS HISTCDRY With few jitters the freshman class of 1964 cheerfully greeted Foxcroft Academy, determined to make their presence known. We survived the short Freshman Week under the leadership of President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Nancy Buck, Secretary, Joel Patterson, and Treasurer, Earl Robinson. Our Student Council representatives were Ronald Thomas, Lynne Howe, and Bonnie Blood. We were not only well represented on the honor roll, but we also endowed many school organizations with talented members of our class. Although our only activity was an unsuccessful car wash, we enthusiastically vowed to return to Foxcroft Academy and plan for some type of class trip. As Sophomores we gained in leadership and scholastic abilities with the help of President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Richard Varnum, Secretary, Nancy Buck, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. The Student Council representatives were Gloria Cole, Lynne Howe CSecretary7, and Ronald Thomas. Our class was well represented in musical activities, sports, clubs, and on the honor roll. For our Junior class officers we elected President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Doris Gammon, Secretary, Bonnie Blood, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. The Student Council members were Lynne Howe and Betty-Jane Stanhope. We were very proud when Ronald Thomas was elected president of the Student Council and Gloria Cole became secretary. Our class was represented by three cheer- leaders, two majorettes, five boys on the varsity basketball team, several girls on the basketball team, many vocalists, and several instrumentalists. We were represented in the Junior Exhibition, Penquis Prize Speaking, the Junior Play, the Contest Play, and the Maine Debate Tournament. As Seniors we elected President, Louis Campbell, Vice-President, Gordon Engstrom, Secretary, Joel Patterson, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. Gloria Cole and Ronald Thomas represented us on the Student Council. Members of our class once more gave their services to many school organizations. We had five of our boys on the championship football team that won the Penquis League title and tied for the State Class D titles. Betty-Jane Stanhope was elected Future Home- makers of America State Historian and became a youth member of the H.Y.P.O. Committee, she encouraged students to stay in school. Nancy Buck was a winner in a national contest sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. Some of our classmates have already been accepted at colleges, many of us plan to continue our education after high school. Although we are sorry to leave our Alma Mater, we are anxious to see what the future will bring to us. Nancy Buck 23
