A WORD FROM THE EDITORS As We have been guided by capable leaders, as we have learned and grown through better sportsmanship, and as we have laughed and cried through moments of joy or defeat, We have lived our last year at Foxcroft Academy. It was a year filled with moments of laughter, excitement, friendship, and study for everyone at Foxcroft Academy. Although many of these moments seem insignificant, these are the things that make a year memorable. Whether cheering your team to victory, cramming for the quiz you just heard about, or having the time of your life at the dance, you will come to treasure these moments. We have attempted to preserve these memories that you may never forget in this 1964 REVIEW. 4 BUSINESS STAFF SEATED: D. Gammon, A. Plourde, K. Anderson, M. Ellery, S. Hichborn fManagerJ, G. Cole, C. The Student Council representatives dec- orated a float for the Street Opening parade in October. During football season the Student Council helped the cheerleaders with snake dances and rallies. We had a Victory Dance at the end of the season. This year, as in previous years, the Student Council sponsored the school assemblies. We also planneda Hootenanny-Christmas Program which was well-received by the entire student body. Six members attended the State Student Council Convention in Fairfield and received a great deal of valuable information. The Student Council has assumed the re- sponsibility of carrying out lunch line restric- tions. Under the guidance of Mrs. Hewes, Mr. Coffin, and Mr. Thomas, the Student Council has endeavored to help the stu d ents of Foxcroft Academy with their problems. TILSON D. Some of the students, weary of the demanding schedule, are thankful that the end of high school is near. We survived the short Freshman Week under the leadership of President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Nancy Buck, Secretary, Joel Patterson, and Treasurer, Earl Robinson. Our Student Council representatives were Ronald Thomas, Lynne Howe, and Bonnie Blood. We were not only well represented on the honor roll, but we also endowed many school organizations with talented members of our class. Although our only activity was an unsuccessful car wash, we enthusiastically vowed to return to Foxcroft Academy and plan for some type of class trip. As Sophomores we gained in leadership and scholastic abilities with the help of President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Richard Varnum, Secretary, Nancy Buck, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. The Student Council representatives were Gloria Cole, Lynne Howe CSecretary7, and Ronald Thomas. Our class was well represented in musical activities, sports, clubs, and on the honor roll. For our Junior class officers we elected President, Robert Thomas, Vice- President, Doris Gammon, Secretary, Bonnie Blood, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. The Student Council members were Lynne Howe and Betty-Jane Stanhope. We were very proud when Ronald Thomas was elected president of the Student Council and Gloria Cole became secretary. Our class was represented by three cheer- leaders, two majorettes, five boys on the varsity basketball team, several girls on the basketball team, many vocalists, and several instrumentalists. We were represented in the Junior Exhibition, Penquis Prize Speaking, the Junior Play, the Contest Play, and the Maine Debate Tournament. As Seniors we elected President, Louis Campbell, Vice-President, Gordon Engstrom, Secretary, Joel Patterson, and Treasurer, Ellen Smith. Gloria Cole and Ronald Thomas represented us on the Student Council. Members of our class once more gave their services to many school organizations. We had five of our boys on the championship football team that won the Penquis League title and tied for the State Class D titles. Betty-Jane Stanhope was elected Future Home- makers of America State Historian and became a youth member of the H.Y.P.O. Committee, she encouraged students to stay in school. Nancy Buck was a winner in a national contest sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. Some of our classmates have already been accepted at colleges, many of us plan to continue our education after high school. Although we are sorry to leave our Alma Mater, we are anxious to see what the future will bring to us. His posit- ion on the faculty has been an enormous credit to Foxcroft Academy. Sharon Hall, a senior, was our captain and Julie Anderson, a junior was co-captain. The cheerleader boosted the school spirit by the rallies before the football games, and especially with the Snake Dance. This was enjoyed by all the students and aroused more enthusiasm for winning the games. We wish to extend our appreciation to Mrs. Wiley, our advisor. We had fun on our out of town trips, and we appreciated all she did for us. Graduation will take only three m e mb e r s , Lynne Howe, Carol Speed, and Sharon Hall.
