STUDENT COUNCIL Sitting: S. Boone QYTCC-P1'ttS.J, R. Thomas CPres.D, G. Cole CSec.D, G. Greene Stanclingz Mr. Coffin, B. Annis, B. Spaulding, G. Clark, AI. Anderson, N. Snow, A. H1 es B. Stanhope, Pt. Ruksznis. For the third consecutive year the Student Council has had a junior for its president. The campaigning this year was carried out far more effectively then it has been in the past years. There were four candidates, 'two seniors and two juniors. All the candidates did fine jobs in their campaigns, especially in their speeches. This year the Student Council has accomplished a number of things. Our first project was sponsoring a SocklHop after a football rally. We continued the attendance program and the program to promote more respect of the standard rules. Twelve Student Council members went to the state convention in Auburn and much valuable information was obtained. The Student Council also arranged a Christmas Program and presented it before the entire student body. A few of our members at- tended a session of legislature in Augusta to support a bill concerning unlicensed operators of motor vehicles. Our biggest project was planning a Career Day. VVe helped Mr. Goss, our Guidance Director, set up the program and arranged for speakers. This year the Student Council, under the guidance of Mrs. Hewes, Mr. Coffin, and Mr. Thomas, has endeavored to help the students of F.A. with their problems, requests, and social events.
