These smiling faces are those of first grades out on the play ground. Intelligent looking, aren't they? The first grade was divided into three classes under Mrs. Mabel Badley, Mrs. George Taylor and Miss Shirley Stilley. Carol Nell Kems, Rebecca Lewis and Kay Jack- son were nominated for grade echo queens. Rebecca Lewis won the race and reigns as Grade Echo Queen. First Semester Honor Roll students were Jimmie Kay Jackson, Patsy Mefford, Michael Harris, Joe Dan Skelton, Ronnie Lee Worsham, Mary Kay Scaggs, Henry Ray Norton, Rebecca Lewis, Judith Dodd, Deborah Shafer, Janice Sturdivant, Stanley Williams, Kathy Dixon, Gaylin Eason, Karen Griffin, Carol Nell Kerns, Pamela Moody, Lecia Tinsley. The three classes presented Mother Goose as their assembly program. Parties were held at Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter and after the first grade play.
