Lincoln spoke these words almost one hundred years ago, yet today they are still true. We are struggling that our government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth. To the youth of our own generation who are in military service, and to those who have given that last full measure of devotion for the cause of freedom in the modern world, we dedicate this hook. In so dedicating, we also pledge ourselves to give our best in whatever crisis may come to us .... from the tiny first graders who are just beginning life's training, to the seniors who are now passing through our doors into the world.
