Baseball Winds Up Srrong Season All in all, rhe Fox Warriors varsiry baseball squad had a year rhey could be proud of. Unforrunarely, rheir season ended a lirrle earlier rhan rhey would of liked, The Warriors wound up rhe season wirh a 1547 mark and a Q-5 record in rhe Suburban Wesr Conference, which was good enough ro give rhe Warriors rheir firsr conference championship since joining rhe league four years earlier, Bur rhey closed our rhe year when rhey losr ro one of rheir arch-rivals, rhe Norrhwesr Lions, in rhe second round of Missouri Disreric iii comperirion ar Desoro by a score of 8-2. Wirh rhar loss all dreams of a possible srare championship, Cwhich would have been rhe rhird in rhe schools hisraryD wenr up in smoke, Srill, rhere were several srandours for rhe Warriors on rhe diamond. Mike Miller pirched aursranding ball, as evidenced by his 5-O record. He received help from Dave Monrgomery and John Gangloff, who spenr rhe resr of his rime ar rhird base. Kevin Eberhardr was srarioned ar second and was perhaps rhe clubs besr hirrer by years end. Carcher BJ. Bock shook off a mid-season slump and rurned in a srrong season. In rhe ourfield, rhe Warriors gor a lor of spark from rhe orher half of rhe Gangloff rwins, Jim, who performed in lefr field.
