U EHPEUQ QLUURS magazine Last month the school board reviewed a proposal to build a community center adjacent ro the Fox campus. This 51.5 million prqect would include a 2,000 seat auditorium on 8.5 acres southwest of campus, The center would primarily be used for school activities, lilse assemblies, and would be a Home for the drama department and radio-television communication classes. Tremendous Topics James Rickman, superthtendenr of Fox C-6 schools, announced his retirement after nine- teen years. Teachers and fellow administrators acknowledge his role as the instrumental force in building Fox to one of the finest Cond largest? school districts in the state, During his tenure as superintendent, Mr. Rickman accomplished many things, but the annexation of Antonia and Hamrick schools, 1966 building fund levy, and overall good relations with the community are considered his greatest accomplishments. Our present gym Cfinished in 19665, the shop and art buildings and the Media Center have been build during Mr. Piickman's administration. Mr, Rickman feels he has been blessed with a most rewarding job. ln February community voters approved o transfer of school funds that will allow a 2,000 seat auditorium to be built on the Fox campus. This 1.5 million prqect will be used for school assemblies, a lhome' for the drama and radio- television classes and available for community use when it is completed. The 1984 yearbook staff conducted a year- book 'cover contest' for this year's book This was the first time a student designed and drawn cover had been used. The contest was open to everyone and a first prize 525.00 award and free '84 yearbook was awarded 124 Paper Clips to Matt Royal for his interpretation of the theme and now for something totally differ- ent. The Calendar Glrb of Fox? Sound crazy? the '84 Yearbook staff decided to come up with a different approach to fundroising, and thus two 1984 calendars were created, The Calendar Girls of Fox and The Calendar Guys of Fox sold for 54.00 each and featured a black 6 white photograph eoch month of a student from Fox. Photography teacher Jan Morris and Yearbook advisor Peggy Little put the calen- dars together in the fall. Sales were good, and the calendars became a 'hot' item at many other high schools in the area. Culture Clubs first two albums stormed the LP charts with lyrics and music that is very cool, very catchy and never 'naf' Cover- doneD, according to its lead singer Boy George. The reason?
